    Beware of Ralph Oster

There is a fellow using Yahoo IM - calls himself Ralph Oster. If you look at his yahoo profile - ralphoster - he says he'd from Florida. Lately he says he's in Africa and wants to start an account at Wells Fargo and is trying to solicit help, so he can get $$ sent to him. This sounds pretty shady to me. (There are banks in Africa!! Sheesh.....) As soon as he was asked for ID - he signed out! I reported him to Yahoo abuse - but Ladies, especially, Don't fall for it!!! He has a pic of a real cute fella on his profile (not a lot of info there, either) . I Doubt that it is him.... Here is the suspicious conversation: Make your own judgement....

Ralph oster (5/11/2006 12:01:28 PM): hey
Ralph oster (5/11/2006 12:01:38 PM): do u have a WF Bank there?

    ME (5/11/2006 12:03:38 PM): Need a link?
Ralph oster (5/11/2006 12:03:55 PM): can u bank with them for me
ME (5/11/2006 12:04:14 PM): You have an account?
    ME (5/11/2006 12:05:20 PM): I think there are on-line services at https://www.wellsfargo.com/
Ralph oster (5/11/2006 12:05:28 PM): nope,i don't and the company bank with them and i''ll like them to transfer some money for me
Ralph oster (5/11/2006 12:06:00 PM): so if u can help me open account with the bank......u can have the access to get the money wire to me here
Ralph oster (5/11/2006 12:06:25 PM): yes,i can bank online but i can't get the money down here if i do that
ME (5/11/2006 12:07:35 PM): Don't know if I can do that. Doesn't Africa have banks?
Ralph oster (5/11/2006 12:08:03 PM): so can u help me bank with the bank.......open saving and checking account with the bank
Ralph oster (5/11/2006 12:08:14 PM): no bank like that here
ME (5/11/2006 12:09:17 PM): I suppose.... But you will need to supply several forms of ID. I think it is best I do not put my name on it - after all - we don't know each other very well.
Ralph oster (5/11/2006 12:09:33 PM): brb

    Re: Beware of this guy!

    Don't even talk to him!

There's no doubt he is a 419 scammer and the picture is not him at all. It is a common trick to post or email attractive pictures to lure people into whatever it is they are up to.

This one is probably trying to get you involved in a fake cashier's check scam. This is where they will offer a percentage or reward for accepting a check for them, and then forwarding cash to them through Western Union. For example, you get a cashier's check for $5000, your "reward" is 10%, so you deposit the check, keep $500 and send the rest to your new friend. Eventually, the bank learns that the check is bogus and you are stuck owing $4500. These people are criminals and can be dangerous.

Best advice- don't even talk to him, but certainly don't give him any identifying info like phone number or address. Look here for more info:

    or just search 419 scams.

I have seen many people posting about this guy but now I know that he is a total fraud. I think even from the conversation you can see it.
