    Re: The Angel Society Scam!!!

Princess Di, Elvis Presley, Pope John Paul II--all human pop icons (not supernatural beings). Still, they elicit a warm emotional response from millions of people, and if this is a scam, that's a good set-up to get you to send money without thinking. Why couldn't the Angel Society just take the $25.00 out of the assistance they are giving me? As I looked over the letter, for some reason the name "Michelle Chalon" seemed familiar to me (alhough I couldn't say why). I was reminded that somehow I got on a mailing list for sales letters I get from time-to-time from psychics and astrologers. I wonder if she is one of them? In that case, the "Personal Assistance" you receive might not be money, but a psychic reading or having a horoscope cast for you (guaranteed to make you lucky in casinos, etc. etc.). That might explain the request for your date and place of birth. This is just speculation on my part, but one possible angle.

    Re: The Angel Society Scam!!!

I received a letter from The Angel Society stating that I was to be the recipient of a Personal Assistance Award and all I had to do was send in a one time fee of $25.00. I was skeptical but the wording was benign and sounded like they were offering financial assistance or a grant or something but they did not specify what kind of assistance I would receive.

I took a chance and sent them a check, about three weeks later I received a Private Angel Report from Michelle Chalon the founder who claims to be a Clairvoyant and Angel Communicator. Long story short, the assistance she is offering is Occultic by methods such as Astrology, Tarot Cards, Numerology, Telepathy, Contact with your personal guardian Angel etc.

I realize there are people that believe in this and would like to pursue such an endeavor, I however do not, this goes against everything I believe in and I am offended that their contact letter was so intentionally deceptive. I have written to them and requested a refund but it remains to be seen whether I receive it or not.

Just got my "Personal Assistance Award" letter today; it struck a strange chord in me that an organization would be willing to give me an AWARD only if they received a DONATION first. Make sure you hitch up your pants cuffs as you wade through that letter . . . it may be too late to save your shoes. :p

Thank you, Tillamook. I just got the letter today and for want of another reason decided to do a bit of investigating before I popped for the check. Lord knows, I've done it often enough before! Anyway, I really appreciate your dilligence and forethought regarding passing your info on.

    Thanks again,

Holy Bible, New Testament, 2nd Corinthians 11:14,15 -

"There is nothing surprising about that; Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is therefore a simple thing for his agents to masquerade as agents of good. But they will meet the end their deeds deserve."

I feel like the biggest I.D.I.O.T. Why? because I'm so desperate for some extra money that; I have fallen for several of these scams including the Angel Society scam. Or whatever. I just mailed them my $25 check last week. I'm down to my last couple of dollars. And It's not because I'm money hungry. It's because; I have a 21 month old, I take care of my Grandmother, who I've lived with since I was 3 days old and, I'm on the heffin public assistance program. My cell phon's been cut off several times due to me being so naive. I keep thinking these letters hold value to my future. But what they really hold is my demise....... Why oh why am I so gullable? . Sincerely a620m :( ;[

    Re: The Angel Society Scam!!!

Yes, I fell for this scam, too. Even after carefully reading the letter, I was hopeful that this was the real thing, so I sent my $25.00 - instead of financial aid, all I got was a mumbo-jumbo physic reading! I immediately sent them a letter requesting a full refund, saying that their letter was intentionally misleading...you guessed it; I've heard nothing from them.

By the way, just this evening I received a VERY SIMILAR letter from
"The Monte Carlo Foundation" - saying "...has been named as recipient of a valuble Golden Achievement Award." They, too, mention Elvis Presley, Pope John Paul, II, Princess Di and Mother Teresa - they even throw in Albert Schweitzer and Maurice Chevalier! This letter does sound more suspect than the Angel Society's letter because it does say "...an important measure of protection. A measure of protection that will enable you to once again assume control of our life and face the future..." Signed by Walter P. Thatcher, III. The "registration fee" is also $25.00. Has anyone heard about the Monte Carlo Foundation?

    Re: The Angel Society Scam!!!

Hi, Today is October 30th., What a way to get a trick-or-treat huh. Well I just wanted to say that I recieved my letter and was a little curious. So I looked up the Angel Society. Your website confirmed just what I had thought "It's a scam". Thanks for informing me and not letting me waste anymore money. I feel bad for the one's that did. I just think it's really sad how some people get off on hurting, manipulating and abusing other people. And just think to use such a name as "The Angel Society" in vain. I don't know how these people sleep at night knowing that there are people like myself that could really use the help. If I wanted a psychic reading I could pay one for $5.00. Thats $20.00 left for my pocket. Once again, THANK YOU ALL.

Hi, I also received the "Angel Society" letter, thanks to all of you....they're not getting my hard earned money....besides fyi....from something we all should look to for answers....The Bible....quote from Deut.18:10-12....
“When you are entered into the land that Jehovah your God is giving you, you must not learn to do according to the detestable things of those nations. *There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, *or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. *For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you. You should prove yourself faultless with Jehovah your God.
