    is this a scam?

Hey, I got a text message today giving me a ceritificate number and the message said about me winning a 3rd place prize, and if I dotn call this number than my prize will be cancelled.

So I call and the woman said (wasnt really clear she had an accent couldnt really understand) that they're a company that thats from ??? some country beside Hong Kong and they have casinos and hotels. And they're in canada now expanding and opening up a casino in Vancouver in January of next year. She states my phone number along with the certificate number were picked to go into a raffel and that I was chosen during a conference and won $100,000 U.S cuz i was picked. She also said something about my sponsor being MGICB (some tax revenue bureau in i forgot what country) and that Ill be claiming my money from them, and that the company I called is just there to assist me.

They asked or my name, birthdate, email adress and they wanted some ID number to see if I have relatives that work in the company. Instead of giving them my drivers license or health card, I gave them my student number (and I highly regret it now because I feel as though its a scam).

Woman said they have to check if hte account is valid and if any relatives work in the company and the accounting department will call me back. They do 5 minutes later, she verified my information, and says she will call me back later today to tell me if its valid and if I can claim the money. Gave me her name and the number to call back etc.

Both women that called asked me my nationality and what im studying in school.

    Did I just get owned?

Thanks in advance for any help.

p.s can they do anythnig with the info I provided them?

p.p.s they are also asking me for my banking information so they can "forward it to the sponsoring company so they can deposit the money into my bank". lol so its a scam eh

Sorry dude, scam. That one is as scammy as they get. At least you didn't give them the godsends of all IDs (DL# or SSN#). Hopefully they can't track you with the student ID. Cross your fingers, but your school does have all your financials.
It isn't what you buy, it isn't what you read: It's what you DO. So why would you BUY a seller's product because they told you to READ it? Don't hide behind other people's advice and their "rich" books. All that gets you is a crappy looking webpage. I'm sure you can DO that without any help.
