    Censorship..

Views on censoring films, books, etc?

Like this, for example? For it? Against it? Imo, what just happens, esp now, is that the profile of the film is raised, you cannot put a price on that sort of publicity, while at the same time, if one really wanted to, they could download it from the net.

    Censors reject 'sadistic' horror

A Japanese horror film has been refused an 18 certificate by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) because of its graphic torture scenes.

According to BBFC director David Cooke, Grotesque presented "little more than an unrelenting and escalating scenario of humiliation, brutality and sadism".

Its "unacceptable content", he added, meant cuts were "not a viable option".

The BBFC rarely refuses to pass films, having denied only three titles seeking an 18 rating over the last four years.

These include violent sex thriller Murder Set Pieces and Terrorists, Killers And Other Wackos, a film comprising real clips of execution and torture.

    'Minimal narrative'

Two pornographic works seeking the restricted R18 rating have also been rejected in the same period.

The distributors of Grotesque had hoped to receive an 18 certificate for the film, which includes scenes involving amputation and eye-gouging.

"The chief pleasure on offer seems to be in the spectacle of sadism (including sexual sadism) for its own sake," said Mr Cooke.

Its "minimal narrative or character development, " he continued, set it apart from such other "torture-themed" works as the Saw and Hostel movie series.

The BBFC drew criticism earlier this year for passing Danish horror Antichrist uncut, despite its graphic scenes of sex, violence and mutilation.

All fine and well, but who sets the limit, and who says what it is?

Does this mean I'm going to have to destroy my massive collection of snuff films?

The problem we have here, is that once you go down the route of having a group of adults telling another group of adults what they can and cannot watch, we are on a slippery slope.

What is offensive and what is not, is entirely subjective, also, when I read a book, visit a site, or go see a film, I tend to have an idea of what I am about to see, before I go. I can handle it myself thanks, I am over 16.

This then opens up bizarre situations, such as the controversy over the Life Of Brian (A freaking comedy), by Christians, for many years. And they say Muslims over react, lol..

Or have a root around You Toob, see the banned cartoons from down the years, or the banned books.

You will be pretty amazed, imo..

just when i was getting laid back to field devolver666's returning barrages the lights went out all over town. everybody went home. i had a major personal crisis that started that morning that contributed to my crankiness that evening.

it's just now been resolved today and i have to get ready to move on the third of september. no big deal. i don't have much to move. most of my things have been stolen or destroyed.

my friendly foes like grime and low pwrone are ignoring me as best they can. most of the heavy-weight extremists are too or are at least conducting themselves with a modicum of decorum when they do respond. i'm wondering about and am trying to be delicate on approach to DBA, BZ and morpheus.

milkadeal and soupnazi, tig, snappy dan, asmotj, old timer and howdy are fine in my sandbox any time.

the only person on this forum i've met on this go around who brought valuable research and technique into a brush fire i started was put it out there baby

the aussies, gazza and kazza, are among the worthiest, best qualified and sensible challengers i've met anywhere. they don't mince words and don't stoop to whole long personal haranques; a few choice words and a blurb on topic.

they're a little more outspoken than PaulM, less sensationalist than dchristie, low pwrone or grime and far more comprehensible to people of average or lower intelligence than you or me.

i especially like to have their kind of voices chime in when i'm getting spewed on by somebody having a hyper manic OCD episode.

i've always been especially fond of the wisdom and humor of our lady scamsters. i'm especially impressed by the discipline peregrine shows tending her garden and the material she brings in to water her seeds.

it would not be a surprise to learn her to be the daughter of a general married to someone well on his way to flag rank.

on the other hand, i don't recall user name to be so thin-skinned, uptight, easy to bait and prone to extended flamebacks.

illogical boor and clearly a moron here are showing they can take it as well as they can dish it out and i'll paint wrestle in drag with yeah well fine then any time, any place and in front of a crowd of any demographic compositio, provided there's adequate security for the venice beach, burning man, stadium concert or rainbow gathering type crowd that we'd draw if that's what sort of venue he chooses to stage such a spectacle.

my money for best peculiar postings by a new addition to the scam forums peculiar people possibly prone to paroxysms of extended alliteration as an attention-getting device is on phlipper.

nurture his nonsense and we will all be enriched by the flow of creative will he spews into this well of collective consciusness we all so love to drool, puke, piss and shit into.

many of us are going on five years of partying in this playpen together. only snopes' community has accumulated a more rich collection of knowledge on a wider variety of topics in those five years than we scam peeps have of any of the other ten or so boards i frequent.

many poster children here could learn some better manners. i really don't like to be waving my dick back at them trying to warn them off. to be the only one punished for getting into it is only par for the course.:2gunsfiring_v1::king22::judges:

help me with this: which do you like better? happy meal or happy meds.
i can't make up my mind.

Lol, :yelcutelaughA: interesting composition and use of words, not to mention imagination.

Perhaps we could do it standing on a pole, thirty feet high, with attack dogs below us?

    He who falls in food.

    Just throwing that out there.

    Doesn't need to be that.

Could just as easy be something else...

i'm so glad to please you, bon sah!

pass on the dogs, thanks. i only have one right now and he's not trained for that. had to teach him and his sister the difference between wild and domestic critters before they got themselves into trouble.

he's so lazy and stubborn, he just stands around and shows everybody how handsome, good-natured and obedient he is. even without tricks, 1/2 to 3/4 of our income was aimed at him. not me. i have to restrain myself sometimes if it's ok for me to drink some of the water or buy myself some food.

when i have 2 good males, 6 good females and 60 or 80 puppies i'll consider it in padding, but not bare-assed and only to submission, not the dinner bowl.

i've been to many of the aforementioned venues and have been either a vendor or featured player at most of them and lots of others.

been there when riots have nearly started when police showed up to check on crowds i was working with ensembles and a fair number of minor ones that have jumped off at bigger venues and a couple, three that are in the history books.

there exists somewhere a video of me and a british artist paint wrestling on venice beach circa 1986 in trunks --- no wigs or make up.

never did much of that anyway, even alone. i grew up in the middle of it though in chicago's new town. my ladies have always liked the feel of my beard on their naught parts and. haven't had many male friends with the balls to do it or female friends that were into it. i

we had a very formal match refereed and all, on a big canvas tarp with paints salvaged from behind the producer, tony bill's venice beach digs on westminster between sunset and dudley in front of the cafes where we always played music or peddled our trinkets.

i was a mere challenger. the champion was and to the best of my knowledge still is a brit painter named chris eaves.
got a pretty penny from a collector for the tarp, too.

instead of shaking hands we each splashed paint to the four directions onto the canvas and in the center of the ring, bowed to each other and poured full quarts of red and blue on each other. the black, white and yellow went on the canvas.
