    Advanced Financial Services Inc

I just got information from AFS out of Rhode Island inviting me to take a mortgage out with them for 5%. As long as I include my mortgage I can include other types of loans.

I am finding mixed reviews, and am wondering if anyone in this forum could point me to a decent website regarding this company.

    Thank you for your input

NEWPORT, RI COMPANY ADDS 400TH EMPLOYEE

(NEWPORT, RI) – Advanced Financial Services (AFS), with over 110 hires year-to-date, surpassed 400 employees this month. The company credits the Governor’s Workforce Board and the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation for supporting its growth by awarding it a $77k Job Creation Grant.

The bulk of Advanced Financial Services’ employees work within the 75,000 square foot two-building campus in Newport, Rhode Island. The space has recently undergone extensive renovations in order accommodate its continued growth objectives.

Two new divisions – internet origination and retail origination – along with the commensurate employee services needed to support these recent launches constitute the majority of job growth. These new employees join a company that has been recognized four straight years as the “Best Place to Work in Rhode Island”; and five times as one of the “50 Best Small and Medium-sized Companies to Work for in America” (both by the Society of Human Resource Management and the Great Place to Work Institute). The Providence Business News ranked (by 2008 revenue) AFS as the 33rd “Top Private Company” in Rhode Island in its August 31 – September 6, 2009 edition.

Advanced Financial Services (AFS) is a residential mortgage lender, headquartered in Newport, Rhode Island, and operating in 46 states nationwide. Last year, its 300 employees originated over $1.3 billion in loans, helping over 10,000 homeowners achieve their financial goals. AFS is an approved lender by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, Ginnie Mae and an active member in the Mortgage Bankers Association. AFS was founded in 1983 by CEO Dennis Hardiman.

Thank you for your time to post, but, my concern still stands regarding the mixed reviews. Evidently, you side with the positive ones.

Have you heard any negative ones?

Because of these mixed reviews, I remain cautious about this company.

Hey, this is a great site! I'm with the guy who questions all these loyal clients with 3 or less posts. Puleeze. Another favorite is when you google "scam" and the company you are questioning. The weasels put their own fake website together saying they thought "X" company was a scam but is really a great company. Can you imagine if these sleaze balls put half the effort into an honest living? What a different world this would be.

    • 400+ employees cannot be a "scam"!
    • In business since 1983 cannot be a "scam".
    • An approved FHA, FannieMae, FreddieMac Lender, Accredited Member of the Boston Chapter of the Better Business Bureau for over 25 years, cannot be a "scam".
    • World class customer service cannot be a "scam"
    • Thousands of satisfied customer testimonials each year cannot be a "scam"
When AFS was established in 1983, the company was little more than four telephones, a postage meter, and a typewriter. The hours were long and hard, but even then, our objective was clear: to build a company that treated its clients with dignity and respect - the way you would treat a friend or relative.

Since those days, the world - and our business - has changed dramatically. Today, there are many more phones and faxes at AFS, and e-mail and overnight delivery have improved the speed with which we do business. Computers have made our typewriters of yesterday obsolete!

Over the past 26 years, we have helped more than 100,000 individuals and their families finance their homes and other residential properties. In 2008 alone, our acclaimed Loan Specialists helped arrange over $1.8 billion in mortgage loans. AFS is an approved lender for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD, and is an active member in the Mortgage Banker’s Association of America and the National Home Equity Mortgage Association.

Of course, you will be under no obligation, and there is no cost to find out how much you can save with an AFS loan.

    Re: Advanced Financial Services Inc

After my father died, I'm helping my mother with her bills. I found that they have a deed of trust on the house. According to my mother, this company called and offered them a mortgage. My mother/father are not financially savvy and trust everyone. Apparently they needed some money back in 2002 to make ends meet and this cold call from Advanced Financial Services came at the right time. They were 65 at the time. This company offered them a mortgage in the amount of $45k. Charged them a 10% origination fee at 7.5% fixed rate for 30 years! The loan then was thru CountryWide, that has now made its way to BOA. I called BOA to get copies of all the original loan paperwork. They don't have anything except the application and Deed of trust. I have a copy of the original application for $45k with full signatures from them and the lendor at AFS. But, they also sent me an application for $55k with NO signatures. Then when I look at the deed of trust, it is made out for $55k. So, my question is, where did the other $10k dollars go! Wow... Looks like we are going to have to hire a lawyer for this one. Mis-matched paperwork and possible predatory lending practices. Terrible. We need laws to protect the elderly!

Please contact me directly and we can research our customer database to see what records are available! Since this dates back to 2002, it may take a bit of an effort to find the customer records but we will do our very best. Embrace Home Loans (Formerly Advanced Financial Services) are in business since 1983 with an A+ Rating from the BBB and have never engaged in "predatory lending". We only do government insured loans and must adhere to all of their strict government guidelines as well as annual state audits to do government insured loans.

Our company name was changed due to the expansion of our business into 46 states, and the name "Advanced Financial Services" was not available in all states.

Chip Leakas, Embrace Home Loans 800-333-3004 ext. 3305 9-5 M-F EST. Call me now if you can or send an email with your complete contact information as well as your parents including their names (First, M. Last) and the property address. I will need that to locate the customer records. Thanks! Chip
