    Credit Repair Companies

Just wondering about the pros or cons of any credit repair companies.
If there are any that are better than the others, and what the pitfalls are.

There is nothing they can do for you that you can't do for yourself.

    http://www.creditkarma.com/

    http://www.bankrate.com/

both of those site can provide you with alot of info about your credit score and how to improve it.

i wouldn't recommend you pay some stranger that says he can do magic credit repair. if there is incorrect information on your credit record you can get it corrected.

Credit repair, eh? Well, you can do all of it yourself and avoid possible scams and save a buttload of cash. First start with your credit report and find out if it is accurate. In my case, there were 12 individuals within 25 miles with the SAME NAME, different SSI and birthdays.

Second, educate yourself with the credit laws, etc. One good book I read was written by Kevin Trudeau called "Debt Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know. It was educational for me.

Third, educate yourself on how credit card and credit companies "hook" you with introductory interest rates, no annual fee, increasing your credit limit, etc.

    Fourth, educate yourself.

    Fifth, educate yourself.

Getting the picture? Hope this helps.

p.s. Credit counselling companies are no better (for the most part) than the credit companies. Words of warning.
