    ATT/Cingular

I went into ATT/Cingular store yesterday (who knows what it is since they change it everyweek) and needed a new sim card for my ATT Wireless account. Apparently I talked to someone in sales because he said they didnt have any ATT sim cards and that I'd need to sign up for a new 2 year contract to get a cingular sim card. How stupid. I went back in an hour later and spoke to what appered to be the manager (the guy in the white shirt) and asked him if they had any ATT cards. He said yes, went into the back room, got a card and told me to call the number on the back and follow the insructions. It works perfectly now and was so easy to get it activated. The moral of the story is to speak to someone wearing a shirt color different that anyone else because there the ones that can actually help you out and not sell you someone. If your an ATT customer and you need a new sim card, their free, just ask the manager. However, you will need to eventualy switch to Cingular (what a pain).

I worked at a cingular Call center and unless your getting a comped card, they usually charge a $27 fee for a replacement sim card. Cingular is a pain to work and to shop at. We, at the call center, hated the in-store sales people because of their lack of knowledge and the "Sell at any cost" attitude that was encouraged.

Hee hee...I use a cell phone company that charges me $90.00 a month for unlimited usage of two phones + 1500 roaming minutes. I love it! I routinely surpass 5000 minutes a month and when I used Cingular/Suncom/ATT they were killing me with those $400.00 bills.
