    amazon.com scam letter?

    i just got this letter from amazon.com in my spam folder. it this also one of those phishing scams?:




    In order to maintain the integrity of the entire Amazon.com system , our crew members is running an data base update . This decision was taken by the High Executive Beaurau of Amazon.com and it should be followed by all of it's customers .

    that's strange. when i first got the letter, i clicked on the link & it took me to a place to give your personal info like all the scam letters do. ya, on scam letters, some other links usually don't work. these letters are all the same. :rolleyes:

    I would call the Supreme Commander of the "High Executive Bureau" of Amazon before proceeding. Not how they mangled the spelling of Bureau in the original post.

    At what point are you guys going to realize that no legitimate company will ever send you an e-mail asking for account information?
    I like stuff.

    It is a phishing site. Best not to follow the links in such emails as scammers also try to install keyloggers or a Trojan onto your PC at that sites.


    The link goes to Amazon because vBulletin parsed the linked text, and not the link itself as well, or you didn't copy the source code.
