Golly...The state of New York has produced a whole lot of millionaires from people winning the state lottery. Does that mean a homeless Viet-Nam Vet foraging for food out of garbage cans should get all pumped up behind that too?

This is all complete nonsense. The Rich do not create jobs. The rich capitalize productivity and exploit those on the lower economic ladder like any other commodity. The facts of life are such that now, their capital is finding far more economical job markets overseas. We are sliding into becoming a third world economy within the next 30 years when automation will replace more and more workers, yet, 60% of the population will be on fixed entitlements while we will be trying to figure out how to pay the bills Bush and before him Reagan stuck us with.

The rest will be mindless drone jobs that can be performed by anyone who can fog a mirror. .and they will be the lucky ones. The 1% like Bush and Cheney will simply get richer and the middle class will pay for it with more blood, sweat and tears.
Although Dchristie is technically correct on the job issue he misses the overall point. It takes money to start a business and provide jobs. Large companies began as small business investing capitol to grow and create jobs. High taxes hurts small business even more then large business and is detrimental to their growth. This is why companies of all sizes seek out locations that have lower taxes, labor costs and regulations. This could be as simple as moving from Minnesota to South Dakota or more complex as outsourcing to China. Whether it is a small company or a large company they are creating jobs that run the economy. That is the overall point Dchristie seems to miss. That being said, there are more people well off in this country, creating more jobs then any time in history. What does this tell an average Joe like myself? The America Dream is alive and well and if you choose to grasp it hard work and dedication will eventually lead to success and wealth (whatever those two mean to each indivudal). Dchristie is a typical socialist. I would advise he go live in Cuba, as he has no understanding of how our economy operates and what made this country great.

Let me explain a little something to the socialist Dchristie. A person begins working for another, learns skill along the way. If they are competent and have a drive to succeed they move to greater responsibility, more money, more wealth within their company or move on to other companies who appreciate their skills. If this person really is driven, cares to take a risk and follow their passions they take the skills they learned and create their own business, eventually creating jobs for others who some will eventually follow along that path too. It is possible and the opportunity is there as proof in the millions of people who follow this path and the wealth this nation creates. The problem with people like Dchrisite is they have so little faith in humanity they want some government agency to tell people how to live and to baby people. I pity people like Dchrisite because they are truly the dregs of humanity and left in charge would run this country into the ground.

Funny, I find that many people think that their view is the "true" view. Truth is seen in the eye of the beholder. How we are raised and the values we were raised with reflects/determines what we will choose we will believe or not.

So how is it that the left is always posting lies and deception ? I find they are merely posting their view of what they see happening.

And how did you come to the conclusion that you have the true understanding of reality ? Is this a trait of the right ? We all would like to think that we have the true understanding of reality. But sometimes, the things we perceive to be true comes unravelled and we quickly adjust for damage control.

There's name calling on both sides. It's fun to revert back to childhood sometimes and get all that frustration out. One thing I will point out is that the people who represent the right, often go on the defensive whenever someone from the left posts something to their dislike. My opinion anyway.

Great post. I am not a big WWE fant but won tickets to the target center through work to see the event a few weeks ago. I was curious about how it was in person. At first I thought it was part of the show but when you see grown tough men cry you knew Eddie was gone. The show that day was all memorial to Eddie. Anything else they had planned (scripted) was thrown out.

I am a very tolerant person but have little patience for those who make statements that are not very intelligent. Now you may be a 10 year old so then I would fully appreciate your need for further education, but an adult should not be making ignorant statements about those who provide jobs and create wealth. I find too may leftist propaganda on here that are down right false and I have no desire to let those statements pass. Ideas are powerful (after all this country was founded on an idea) and wrong ideas like the left likes to perpetuate are dangerous to this country. In this case it is not about being tolerant it is about the safety and welfare for myself and my family.

I just wish the left would better educate themselves instead of calling those who have a true understanding of reality intolerant and in some case hate mongers. Isn't that nice. However, I think my dog has a more realistic view of reality than that. This is the "maybe I'll win the lottery" school of economics. Typical.
Obviously you missed the tongue in cheek point I was making, but that is not unexpected from you.

Unlike most form the left, I do understand the numbers the Clinton Administration threw out there where based on so many assumptions that it was simply a nice way of making people feel good. Only our Government can increase spending and call it a spending cut. Clinton's numbers where based on revenues collected if things remained the same or improved. We all knew the Dot Com boom was going to end, what we didn't know was that 9/11 was going to happen. Even without 9/11, Clinton's projections where out the door the minute the bubble burst and the "paper wealth” disappeared.

There is one sure fire way to decrease our debt and that is to make real cuts in spending and use the cuts to pay down the debt until we have paid it off. No politician is going to propose that because it will require programs to either go away immediately or their funding be reduced to a point they can not sustain their program. Politicians are so good at saying "It is only X millions dollars a year, no reason to cut that as it is only a drop in the bucket." Well if it is only a drop in the bucket, no one will notice when that funding is pulled so get rid of it. Enough drops and soon the bucket is filled up and the cut was meaningful.

Democrats like to claim there was surplus money and Bush wasted it. Surplus money alludes to the conclusion that it was sitting in a vault somewhere waiting to be spent. This is not the truth and you know it as well as I . The surplus was from what they projected to come in compared to what they projected to spend. Had the surplus been real money sitting there waiting for someone to do something with it, then the government failed by not applying it to the national debt.

Your sources for that data are just as flawed and skewed as those where you get the rest of your right-wing drivel. Out of 50 of the wealthiest members of Congress ( worth over 3 million in net assets ) 29 of them are Republicans.
Yep Forbes is known for its flawed and skewed data. While your 29 of 50 members of congress are republican number might be accurate, so is the fact that out of the top 5 wealthiest, 4 are Democrats including the top 4 positions. Democrats hold 6 of the top 10 spots, 9 of the top 15, but split the top 20 equally with Republicans.

The top 20 wealthiest Senators combined have a net wealth of $1.967 Billion and democrats control $1.849 Billion of it. Doing the math the Republicans control only $119.1 million of the top 20 Senator's wealth.

Because of normal reporting rules, Hillary Clinton doesn't even make the millionaires club yet when you look at her net worth she is ranked 8th on the list with $12.8 million.

The House is split a bit more equally with 12 Republicans and 8 Democrats rounding out the top 20. The top 20 control $516.9 million of wealth and the Republicans control 65% versus the 35% controlled by the Democrats.

Less than 1 percent of the American people, according to the new World Wealth Report, can currently claim at least $1 million in financial assets.

Bush and Cheney are both millionaires many times over.
I stand corrected. While I was referring to the top 1%, I was looking at congressional wealth and misspoke. They definitely fit in the top 1% of the wealthiest Americans category.

What microscopic percentage of the population do people like Gates and Allen represent? Too small to even calculate. They are certainly not representative of your average entrepreneur. The fact their businesses grew into entities that could support large numbers of employees is an extremely rare success story. The norm is quite the opposite. It isn't the rich who create small business which generates most of the jobs in this country. It is private individuals who take great risks to do this and start out without nearly the resources Gates and Allen had.
You honestly are not worth the time it takes to put together a reply, but I will do it anyway. Gates and Allen sure had a lot of resources starting out; a dream, some technical knowledge, and a garage. Nope not many people have those types of resources.

It seems in your clouded mind that if there where no filthy rich in the world, all that money would be distributed among the entire population. Money is not simply laying around waiting for someone to simply pick it up, things must be created to generate additional wealth and no I do not blame those that either create or oversee the creation of the goods or services for receiving a large chunk of that pie.

Gates and Allen have created by best estimates 10,000 millionaires. While some fo these people simply spent their money, many of then have gone on to start their own businesses, including Venture Capitol Groups which in turn provide funding for other start up companies. One such VC firm has over $750 million under management and that is a lot of green to help small businesses which in turn create additional jobs.

But people such as yourself can not see the forest for the trees and take the comments "The Rich Create the Jobs" to such a literal extreme, you will never understand the concept.

Throughout your little pean to the wealthy, you conveniently overlook the fact that without the workers, Gates and Allen wouldn't have a job either.
Is this not the entire point of the conversation? Gates and Allen dreamed up an idea that in turn requires people to make it work. This is how a job is created. No one said that the blue collar worker is not needed or appreciated or even required in order for the likes of Bill Gates and Paul Allen to continue to generate wealth. It is interesting that we are using these two individual in this discussion as a large majority of the Microsoft Millionaire's donate time and money to the Democrat's coffers.

You are obviously entirely unqualified to generalize about what veterans or the homeless in this country are looking for just as you feel justified in making absurd claims about the economy which you, obviously, know just as little about.
Before you go jumping to such conclusions, you might first learn something about the person to which you are referring. First off, we are referring to "homeless veterans" and "homeless" in general not simply Veterans.

I personally have interviewed many and have processed the interviews of thousands more year after year. I have a pretty good understanding of what the "Average" homeless person is looking for and if you did the interviews you would most likely be surprised. Pretty easy to sit back behind your computer screen and assume you know about these individuals. It is quite another to sit with them and talk to them and offer your lunch to them.

How many hours have you spent out talking to this group of people? How many hours have you spent collecting food and clothing and distributing to the poor and homeless? My family and I have been on the front lines of the fight against hunger in this country for the past 15 years. Last year alone we helped to collect and distribute over 5 million pounds of food and have approximately 600,000 pounds staged and on the way out to the homeless and hungry as I type.
