I don't mind the quote here. I was only challenging the source. I don't believe he said it at all. He was not a true Christian, but he was a believer and his other writings show hat he respected religion and its influence on Man. He wasn't a God Hater.

I'd think if he wrote it these people would know about it.
    Great!!

Until the original source has been proven one way or the other, I'll just use their theist tactic and say, if you can't prove he said it or not, I believe he did!

Jefferson or not, I agree with the sentiment 110%.:judges:

Re: Religious Quote of the Day

The whole history of these books [the Gospels] is so defective and doubtful that it seems vain to attempt minute enquiry into it: and such tricks have been played with their text, and with the texts of other books relating to them, that we have a right, from that cause, to entertain much doubt what parts of them are genuine. In the New Testament there is internal evidence that parts of it have proceeded from an extraordinary man; and that other parts are of the fabric of very inferior minds. It is as easy to separate those parts, as to pick out diamonds from dunghills.

Don't tell God how Big your storm is; tell the storm how Big your God is. Keep your eyes on the Lord and see Him MAGNIFY HIS POWER in you. With faith in your heart, you will move mountains. When fear fills your heart, mountains will move you. BE A MOUNTAIN MOVER.

Hahahaha, Buddy Jesus! Hello! I loved you in Dogma....funny ;)

First inspiration religious quote that comes to me is from a song, Amazing Grace.
A slave owner found God and turned his boat around midway. He then because
an anti-slavery activist. What an amazing story!

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I'm found.
'Twas blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
    And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed.
When we've been there ten thousand years
    Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
    Then when we first begun.
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I'm found.
Was blind, but now I see.

Watch your thoughts; they become words.

Watch your words; they become actions.

Watch your actions; they become habits.

Watch your habits; they become character.

Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
