Dont Sell To A Mr David Williams (uk)

I just got scammed by a Mr David Williams.

Me and my partner where selling our 4x4 on a few internet websites for £3000, a david williams contacted us over phone and email, he wanted the car and sent us a cheque for £5000. He said he would like us to send £1950 to his delivery firm to get it picked up and delivered to him once the cheque had cleared. So we put the cheque in the bank, and was told it would be clear a few days later. So then yesterday we checked the bank to see if it had cleared, and it had. We didnt think it would, and thought it might be some dodgy scam (hrmm), but the cheque cleared, and we thought, great its not a scam and he has paid the money. So we sent the money to his delivery agent, all went well. Intill today, we went to the bank to withdraw some money, and low and behold the cheque had bounced, even though the bank had said it had cleared. so now we are fuming, I rang him up and said what hell are you doing, he said he didnt cancel the cheque it was his business partner or something. But anyway, as i was speaking to him on the phone my partner was on the phone to the police, the bank and Western Union (who we had sent the money with).

So all in all, be carefull about buying selling with a person called David Williams, i wll say though, if he sounds British and not some African then by all means do what you wish. We are now -£2200 in the bank, so be carefull.

Seems to be a typical payment processing scam , with a fake cheque.
