Re: ekquisite marketing

This so called marketing and promotions company that says they sell victoria jackson cosmetics is a total scam. There is nothing good about this company. There are no benefits, no salary, unnecessary long hours, UNETHICAL, and the "cosmetic" manager has no idea what she is doing. I initially thought the position was in Manhattan, because that is what it said in their ad. Well its located in the middle of no where in college point Queens and it took me an extra half hour just to find the building. When i got for there for my interview the place was deserted except for like 2 people, definitely weird.

EKQUISITEMARKETING IS A SCAM!

Re: ekquisite marketing

I wish I would have looked this company up before I wasted my time in the interview process. I looked up their website and it looked sort of professional, but VERY VAGUE. I got called in for a first interview and was called back that very same day to come in for a second interview the following day. I did NOT know that I would be walking around in the streets asking people to buy crap. I ended up leaving early because this company was a joke.
So WARNING to all you people looking for jobs!! Don't waste your time in going to interview with exquisitemarketing if you DON't want to be selling stuff to random people in the streets. It seemed as if we were begging for peoples money. And when I told the manager I didnt think this job was right for me anymore, she gave me attitude! Like it was my fault I didnt like the pathetic job..THEIR LOSS NOT MINE!

Re: ekquisite marketing

My job was a distributor. I was on the street selling make-up to people on the streets of NYC for 8 plus hours! There is no starting salary. You only work on commission; which means if you do not sell you do not make money. The team leader was rude and insulting. She insulted my intelligence that day when she told me that "if a 5 year could do it then there is no reason why I could not. (Oh please! and there are many things that a 5 yr old can do that adults cannot do, and does not make us inferior). She also told me “I’m training people who can someday run a company, not a 5 yr old.” She was being an ignorant b*tch.

The company has this saying that it's not a sales competition, yet if I sold 2 sets of makeup instead of 10 then my boss wants to why. Isn't that ironic? I did not like when they would compare me to people who’ve been there for months.
There was another incident when I was selling this stupid sh*t, but this time I was in Brooklyn w/ someone else. She was bitchy, too. When we went to KeyFood to sell this one lady was complaining to the store manager because we were soliciting. On our way out I asked what the lady’s problem was and she replied "is that lady paying your bills?" and I said no and she said "then you don't need to worry about her." (Well, excuse me for trying to make conversation, b*tch).

When I was being interviewed for the job I assumed that I would be working in an office, and the starting salary mentioned on the job posting was $27,000+. They do not tell you that you will be outside everyday selling to random people! There are only two offices in the building and it's for manager and the owner. Every morning, everyone meets up in a big room with no chairs and we learn the marketing system or techniques on how to sell this crap.

This place is a cult and they are brainwashing people. I think a lot of their methods are unorthodox. For example, selling in private buildings, banks, department store, grocery stores and private businesses is called SOLICITING!! I've actually been kicked out of a bank for that. What kind place of work would want their employees to though that bullshit?

lying is seen as being creative. We have to persuade potential customers to buy by lying… oops I mean by being creative. Here is line that many of them use. Jennifer from the CVS down the block bought six for her bridal shower and saved over $600.00, or Ma’am I started w/ 50 this morning I only have ten left! That’s bogus because the most we can carry in our bags is 20 sets.
By the way CITY WIDE MARKETING is also a scam.

Re: ekquisite marketing

Just a little update on Ekquisite Marketing. A very close friend of mind informed me that the office in College Point is closed (out of business, but they do have an office in the Bronx,NY), and the whole world takes a collective sigh of relief. Karma is a B*tch!
P.S: Still Watch out for City Wide Marketing or City Wide Marketing Concepts. They use different names to confuse innocent people.

@ Ceres- Thanks for the update.

These companies are always moving to a 'new location' after too many people become wary of what kind business these scammers are operating. When I worked with them, they had an office in College Point. Hmm.... now it's Great Neck. When this office closes; I wonder where will they open next?
