Paul supporter nearly arrested while campaigning on Independence Day

Raw Story
Monday, July 9, 2007

Quote:
A supporter of presidential candidate Ron Paul was threatened with arrest in Orlando last week for handing out campaign literature at an Independence Day celebration, an Orlando Sentinel blog reported.

Paul's Orlando campaign coordinator Nick Egoroff, who was dressed like George Washington, told the Sentinel that police threatened to arrest him and other campaign volunteers because they were handing out fliers without paying $1,500 to rent a booth at the city's fireworks festival.

Video: Stephanopoulos Tells Ron Paul He’s Not Going To Win

Posted at 1:58 am | Filed Under Ron Paul, Video

Quote:
ABC’s ‘This Week’ host George Stephanopoulos told Ron Paul that he would bet “every cent” that the Republican candidate is not going to win. I’m not a huge fan of Ron Paul, but I do think what Stephanopoulos said was absolutely disgusting and I doubt he would say it to Joe Biden or Chris Dodd:

Re: Ron Paul 2008

July 9, 2007

A local TV station just called, wanting to follow up on the Sunday ABC interview. Their stated reason: "Your campaign is really picking up steam!"

Darn right, thanks to you and so many others. Of course, some in the media want to see this campaign lose steam. But they're not going to get their way.

I know that every day: for example, whenever I attend one of our big, enthusiastic meetup groups.

As I look around, I always think: how lucky I am to be part of such a movement. And how many young people care deeply about our ideas.

A friend of mine used to wonder what would become of our movement when all the older members of it passed on. Now, he says, there is no doubt that we are sowing the seeds of an even more vibrant and principled freedom movement. The future can be bright indeed.

At a rally in Nevada the other day, I asked a husband and wife how they had gotten interested in this campaign. "Though our 13-year-old son," they told me.

Remember the complaints that kids were addicted to TV and video games, and ignored the world around them? There are plenty who don't fit that bill. And the tool in their hands and ours is the internet. With it, we can circumvent the biased media.

Later this week I go to Google-perhaps the nerve center of the internet-at the company's invitation, to talk to all their employees. Brilliant young techies are part of our constituency, and I am looking forward to that visit. There are two rallies too.

Won't you help keep our internet campaign going and growing? Please aid me in traveling to our rallies, and in getting the word out in every way possible. Make your most generous donation https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/.

This campaign is picking up steam. But the engine needs fuel. Please join me https://www.ronpaul2008.com/join/ in this great endeavor for America's future.

Sincerely,

Ron

Re: Ron Paul 2008

Right on que, here is the latest poll from USA Today/Gallup:

Giuliani has the support of 30% of “Republicans and Republican leaners,” vs. 28% a month ago; Thompson comes in with 20%, vs. 19% in June; McCain has 16%, vs. 18% a month earlier.

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney remains in fourth, at 9% vs. 7% in June.

The current numbers for the rest of the Republicans included in the survey: Former House speaker Newt Gingrich, 6%; former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, 2%; Rep. Duncan Hunter, 2%; Rep. Tom Tancredo, 2%; Sen. Sam Brownback, 1%; Sen. Chuck Hagel, 1%; former Wisconsin governor Tommy Thompson, 1%. Neither former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore nor Rep. Ron Paul registered any support.

That's right boys and girls... Ron Paul once again scored a big fat "0".

?????????????????

From:
USA ELECTION POLLS

July 7, 2007

Ron Paul is dominating every other candidate in online polls. If they truly make up just 2% of the Republican support that he is getting but consistently gets 70% in our straw polls, that would suggest that his supporters are 35 times more passionate than the supporters of Giuliani, McCain, Romney, and Thompson combined. Instead of trying to restrict the speech of Ron Paul supporters like other blogs and websites we encourage them. But we also say shame on you to the supporters of the other campaigns. Speak up, make a post, write a blog, send some emails, make some youtube videos, get on myspace, donate a buck. You guys are looking really pathetic compared to Ron Paul's supporters, not only on our website but every other website on the Internet.

As a result of all this, Ron Paul is now back into our list of top candidates in the right menu.

Vote by signing up to Digg.com and Digging your favorite candidate(s).
Ron Paul 776 diggs
Mitt Romney 16
Fred Thompson 3

Rudy Giuliani 2
Mike Huckabee 2
John McCain 2

Ron Paul's articles are by far the most digged pages on our site. Actually, diggs on Ron Paul pages comprise roughly about 95% of all the diggs ever given to our site.

Ron Paul warns war with Iran 'inevitable'
Republican says U.S. policies must be changed to avoid conflict

Posted: July 10, 2007

Editor's Note: This is the first in WND's planned series of one-on-one interviews with each candidate for the office of president. Today U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, a Texas Republican with libertarian ideals, responds to questions about his plans for America's future.

U.S. Rep. Ron Paul

Quote:
Presidential candidate Ron Paul says unless U.S. policies are changed, a conflict with Iran is "about as inevitable as you can expect."

Paul, a Texas Republican congressman who espouses libertarian ideals, told WND in an exclusive question-and-answer session that people need to understand that such a conflict would be just one more result of a long history of U.S. intervention in actions in the Middle East.

"I think if our policies don't change it's about as inevitable as you can expect because we're unwilling to talk to them and every week we're passing more sanctions and rules and intimidations and accusations and provocations," he said.

"We're surrounding Iran and there's very, very little understanding of that history, the American people don't know how we have been involved since 1953 in interfering with their government and it has hurt us," Paul said. "We're failing in Iraq and our government would like to have a distraction from that so they are blaming the Iranians."

Digg's cheating, though. There's a few people with bots digging the crap out of any article with Ron Paul in it.
