Crescent Processing Company
Hi all!!
I am a little new to this, so please bear with me =)
Had anyone heard of Crescent Processing? I am seeking a career move, and I had a phone interview with a recruiter from Crescent a couple of days ago. Basically, they set up confirmed appointments with small to mid sized business owners, and what the job entails is going into these businesses to try to close them. It is a 1099 position, they provide you a company laptop. The earning potential is really good, alot more that I am bringing in now. Just not sure how legit this is. I have visited their website and haven't found any flaws yet. However, I do know that there are alot of payment processing companies that are setting up shop all over town, and with the economy like it is, I don't want to burn my bridges.
Can anyone help?? Your input is appreciated!!!
Thanks!

Re: Crescent Processing Company
Followup to my original post..A friend of mine called to speak to the same recruiter about this position..What they FAILED to mention to me in their so-called recruiting pitch is they charge $300 for the laptop. This is supposedly refunded, should you part ways with the company. They also have a $39.95 fee, and from my understanding, it is if you don't hit your quota. Keeping in mind, this is a straight 1099 position. So they are not paying a dime for gas, etc but yet charging if you don't hit your goal. They are also supposed to offer leads (who knows how much quality of leads these are) and when I talked to the recruiter, I was told that as soon as you receive your laptop, you will get leads..From what I was told, this was all relatively quick. My friend on the other hand, was told that the laptops are backed up by 53 and that the sooner a person can generate their own leads, the quicker they will be to ship you a laptop..And all of the material needed to close the deal is contained in the laptop. Being in the sales industry for a few years, I had to question this..How do you walk into a business or even call upon a business to set up a meeting when you have no business cards, no material, nothing to show why you are taking that business owner's time...What kills me is that you have to pay THEM if you don't hit your quota...And they are not providing ANYTHING..Glad I got the red flags before it was too late!!!!

wow - what a great company eh? You pay them for the privilege of trying to flog their stuff, they give you no support and bill you if you don't sell.
Wow - what a deal.
Good spotting, eyes. If you are willing and able to work in direct sales there are much better and real, opportunities.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
This is a very intersting read. I personally would not be working here if I did not feel that what we are doing here at Crescent Processing Company is honest and ethical in everything that we do.
If you have ever worked on a 1099 before, you would definitely understand the parameters of an agreement between a parent company and an independent contractor.
We do provide leads. They are “warm” leads. They are not "HOT" and they are not "COLD". We still need strong, proficient closers that know how to be persuasive in a sales process and have the ability to generate their own leads in addition to the leads that we provide. A good salesperson would want to do this anyway to help boost their own income potential.
If what we had to offer was so easy to sell, then we would just sell our products and services over the phone, and there would be no need for a 1099 salesperson.
Realistically, we need the right personality to combine with our presentation to put a "face" to our products and services, and answer questions about the industry, the products, the services, and concerns that a merchant has when they decide to upgrade to Crescent Processing Company for their payment processing needs.
The charges for the Laptop are disclosed in the Independent Regional Manager agreement.
The $300 is a deposit to protect our Laptop/Equipment being utilized out in the field. If we were to ever part ways, the $300 is refunded directly to you.
The $39.99 per month is for the use of the Laptop, the Leads that we generate for you, and for the sales presentation that allows our IRMs to generate income. We do have a quota of 14 accounts per month in order for the $39.99 to go away. That is our incentive for our IRMs to produce and get a good return on our Laptop being utilized out in the field. If you sell 14 accounts or more per month, in essence, you get to use the Laptop, our leads, and our presentation, for free.
Some companies charge up front as much as $100 per month for the use of sales equipment, and up front as much as $400 per month for the use of the Company Name. We only ask to collect fees from an IRM if they are not producing, and we only ask for fees from generate revenues, no up front charges.
This is in no way a SCAM. This is a real business offering a real opportunity to the right individual that understand what it means to work on a 1099 status.
If you are scared of working on straight commission, and you do not believe in yourself to be a strong closer.... then this job is not for you.
If you would like to see if there is availability in your area to work as an Independent Contractor with Crescent Processing Company, please feel free to contact me.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
I think I'm going to try and persuade my employees to pay to work for me, it seems all the most successful companies are doing it these days. I'm amazed that Walmart, Macdonalds and all those other multinationals haven't figured it out yet. Oh, I realise why that is..it's because it's a stupid idea!!

Re: Crescent Processing Company
Let me fill you all in regarding the "merchant processing industry". "Merchant processing industry" simply refers to supplying businesses with credit card processing terminals/printers along with a bank to "clear (process)" the credit card payment and a "third party organization" (such as Crescent) to administer the monthly statements. Merchants pay the banks and "third party organizations" a percentage (sometimes called the "discount fee") of anywhere from 1.5% to 3.95% of the transaction plus a transaction fee ranging from .5 cents to .30 cents for each transaction. So when you use your credit card at your local pizza shop for $20 the pizza shop is actually loosing about $1 of that sale due to processing costs.
Most medium to large businesses deal directly with large banks for special deals that lower their costs and cut out the "third party organizations". This leaves small businesses as the targeted customer for companies such as Crescent.
Companies such as Crescent make the vast majority of their money by selling (actually leasing through a separate leasing company) the actual processing terminals/printers. These terminals/printers cost a company such as Crescent about $200 and they have the uneducated small business owner sign a lease (typically 48 months) that will cost them anywhere from $2400 - $3000. A sales person can make anywhere from $200 - $400 in commission for the sale. A company such as Crescent will also make additional money with numerous (usually hidden and complicated) monthly fees. There are now probably over 50 of these "merchant processing companies" preying on the small business owners of America. They all pretty much operate in the same way. They buy lists of small businesses and have commissioned telemarketers call them to set-up appointments for the commission only Outside Sales Representatives. Crescent is the first to use lap tops with a "canned" video/*****Point" presentation.
All of these companies have the same style operation. Very low overhead with most of their employees being 1099 independent contractors with no benefits. Most reps. last only a few weeks or months because they find the "preset appointments" or leads are poorly qualified. Some of these companies have to disclose to the customer that they have been found guilty by the FTC for illegal and predatory business practices.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
I suppose I could go on and on about how I was treated with this company, but I'm not going to waste my time.
The botton line is, do not go to work for this company. It will drain you of time, gas, money, and eventually lead to a heart atack.
The managemnet, and especially the CEO, David Kesler is a poor excuse for leader.
I'm sorry for how harsh I sound, but I was burned bad. I'm due my first and only pay check tommorrow from Crescent. We will see how that goes, and I may be back soon to respond to the fact they didn't pay me.
Thanks for listening,
Burned Bad in Wisconsin.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
To begin with, CPC is a legit business. Having worked in sales for over 20 yrs, I can say what they offer is unique.
To begin with they don't require the $300 up front. They send you the laptop and only take $25 out of your first 12 sales. This money is refunded to you when you leave.
The appts are great appts. I have worked for companies that make appts and none are as warm as these are. I come from the insurance industry and have worked for companies that charge 5 to 15 dollars for a preset appts. $39.95 a month is a bargin!!!
And they don't LEASE the equipment, they give it away FREE.
Do yourselves a favor, don't talk about things you know nothing about.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
yeah the company is a bunch of liars. they promise free equipment but charge a application fee and annual fee. By brother signed up and never was told he was going to be charged an annual fee. so when his first bill came he was charged 60 fee pluss 95 yearly fee and he only had services for 2 weeks. I did some research online on this company and see that they are a scam just like the old CMS from texas that rripped off alot of us here in louisanna. http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2002/02/cms.htm goto that web site this company did the same thing to my brother and never got his money back. a bunch of liars they are and probobly will be shut down by ftc like all the other scamming credit processing companies. i am reporting them for sales practice.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
Well, I am gonna give this job the good ole college try. I have read the agreements and understand there are some fees, etc. I worked as a 1099 for another company a few years ago that had similar guidelines, and I did very well. Unfortunately, at the time I needed health insurance and had to become an employee for a different company for the benefits. If I were the head of household and needed a steady/guaranteed source of income I would not choose this route, but that is not the case for me. I need something semi flexible and hate to be micromanaged.
I don't know if I am making a good decision or not, but whatever the outcome, I will keep you posted!

Nightmare In Theaters Now
RUN RUN RUN AWAY
Sorry Mitch
4 deals closed and not one single penny in my pocket ... so not acceptable.
This company runs you hundreds of miles a day. schedules appts 50 miles appart 30 minutes appart and refuses to give you phone numbers so you can reschedule.
my first appt with the company and they would not even send the laptop until i was done with my fulltime job, was a hair salon.... who had never heard of the person that my appointment was with.
A dead man also had an appointment with me good thing he was in a mortuary or he woulda really REALLY stunk im guessing ....
then we get the one a hundred miles from my home that orders me off his property because he doesnt even do credit cards or checks because the government is out to get you ..... hmmmm
oh oh oh not to forget this one ... the steak house owner who retired 3 years ago and lives in florida? now thats a solid double verified prequalified lead yip yip yip .....
oh and when u fill out the paperwork for them to pay you do not be surprised when they take money from your account because they want the laptop although they dont have to pay you for a number of reasons...
oh and plan on going to kinkos to send files cause thier pos laptop even with thier it guy on the phone cant transmit your deals from a standard lan connection and if you need to know anything about the product plan on no help whatsoever ...after 2 months a gentleman by the name of Art actually tried to teach me things WHILE I WAS TRYING to close a sale totally discrediting me but i learned more in 10 minutes with him than i did 2 months prior.
I have invested no less than 2000.00 and recieved no pay for my work as of today papers have been filed with several organizations, attourney general, bbb under a diffrent application.
Matthew Jones is the contact who initiated the withdrawl from my checking account after i told him when he could schedule the fedex pickup and his brother Jim Jones LOL scary thought but uhmmm he is in charge of something else and they wanted me after 2 months of bs. to go use a paper form and donate a couple more hours to thier company I presume so they could get paid more moneys so I would have to declare bankruptcy or something .. I even offered if they pay me for one of the deals i would try to do a couple more leads *honestly had no intention was trying to cut my loses* now its in the hands of the courts ....
PLAN ON GETTING A LAWYER INVOLVED IF YOU ARE GOING TO WORK FOR THIS COMPANY

Kelly Services has been around for a very long time. I worked for Kelly back in the late 60s/early 70s when I attended college. In the 70s one of their temporary positions turned into a full-time, permanent job with a company I stayed with for over 20 years. The only problem is that, since you are using a service, your hourly wage might sometimes be lower than had you found work on your own. However, Kelly pays all the fees and the advantage is that it would be difficult to find these openings by yourself. Just never work for any agency that charges a fee.
The reason I found this site is because I answered an ad for Crescent. Mitchell never said anything about a $300 deposit. He told me I'd be paying $39.99 a month for the laptop if I didn't meet the 14 deals a month minimum, but that's all. He said that fee would only be deducted from my commissions and not drawn from my bank account. This sounded reasonable to me. I just left a message to call me back, since I need to understand my financial commitment before starting any job.
Please be aware of one thing if you never worked independently or from home before. First, you might need to file your taxes quarterly. Second, I made some money in 2006 as an independent contractor. Although it was just a small portion of my income, I now owe the IRS much more money than anticipated. I called the IRS (the woman was surprisingly nice) and we reviewed the various forms I need. You can't just add the money you earn to your W-2 income. You must use schedule C or C-EZ and form SE as an independent contractor. Then you will pay business taxes on your profit or loss. You can always pay an accountant, but it's really not difficult to understand, especially with the numerous online tax services available. Keep careful records of every mile you travel, the phone calls you make and the supplies you purchase, and all of your business expenses. A lot of rules have changed recently, and it's getting much more difficult to deduct them. A person used to be able to deduct that second bedroom or a home computer used for business. Now, if audited, the IRS will want proof that the room is used for no personal reasons, like a guest bedroom. Even your computer has to be used exclusively for business purposes, not surfing the net or emailing friends. Now I'm told that you need to have a separate phone line just for your business, not one you use part-time for making personal calls!
So keep in mind that, although these independent sales jobs may or may not be legitimate, you must figure in your personal investment and net income as opposed to working for a company as a W2 employee with benefits. There are always advantages and disadvantages. I am still interested in Crescent's opportunity, but thanks to this site, I will approach it with caution.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
As promised, I wanted to share my experience thus far with Crescent Processing. Yes, there is the $25 per sale for the first 12 sales for laptop insurance of sorts. You get it all back when you part ways with the company. Yes, there is a $40/month charge if you dont make 14 or more sales per month. Basically, you are paying for the leads they provide. Because of a software glitch, I wasn't getting leads right away and doing more cold calling than I would like to do, so my "manager" has made it so they don't take out that $40 this month due to the lack of leads. I will say however, that the 8 leads I have had in the short time I have been with them (3 weeks), I have sold 4. That isn't bad stats at all in the sales profession. I will gladly pay $40 a month for leads verses beating the pavement for hours trying to make my own appts. I am sorry for the others that have had problems with this company, but I just wanted to share the somewhat positive experience that I have had so far. In my opinion, making the money I have made in the few hours I have worked beats the heck out of a 9-5!

Re: Crescent Processing Company
yeah I am a lazy ass 3 sales no pay ... moneys taken from my checking account REAL DEAD PEOPLE FOR LEADS .... at get this a mortuary .... sorry but I put in my time ... now I have an attourney 2 lawsuits and am fighting with them because they do not understand what a true 1099 employee is HERE.... now do i believe that there may be great moneys to be made if you draw a decent manager??? all I KNOW FOR SURE IS ... I had a man who would not give me critical need to know information and after they got rid of him they still refused to pay me for my deals ... HOWEVER IF I WANT TO DO COLD CALLING NO LEADS THEY WERE WILLING TO LET ME DO THAT ON PAPER WORKSHEETS NO TRAINING WHATSOEVER FOR ME  it is my humble opinion givin my experience that anyone considering this company should FLEEE now had they even paid me for my deals ... offered to compensate me for my wasted time literally running dead end appointments in 2 states LIKE AN IDIOT .... the plan they have decent ... the product exceptional ... the implimentation totally unacceptable..... and Matthew Jones, James Jones, Rita Tyler, Enrique Ortiz, & Curt *no last name given go figure* have all lied to me, failed to uphold the companys contract and via taking unauthorized funds from my checking account which they were supposed to place money into for the deals I had closed caused me great financial distress.
*** I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH RUN DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY ***
in a little over 2 months i recieved 6 appointments in one week 2 times (Rita Tyler Promised me 10, the contract states 8) .. as far as quality it was a joke so much so I offered to hire someone to set appointments so I could actually talk to people that had a remote interest and was told that was againt company policy.
Business cards, brochures, etc must be approved by the company and when not approved you take the financial hit even if your manager says yes then checks with someone else and they say NO ..... also there are papers you are to present at the close of every deal ..... nobody told me this .... its not in the contract ..... yet they will try to use this for a reason not to pay you... u can print it ON YOUR PAPER ON YOUR PRINTER AT YOUR COST TO FINISH THE DEAL PROPERLY.
*** IF YOU ARE A COLD CALLER THIS WOULD BE A DECENT JOB IF YOU CAN PRY THE MONEY FROM THEM ***
I was promised 10 double verified prequalified leads a week .... now they failed to meantion they had a direct link to GOD .... and that although the owner of the company had retired 3 years ago ... the person i asked for doesnt even work at the company nor are they a decision maker... these are not double verified leads ... nor are they prequalified....
God Bless and good luck to all in this and any other endeavor as this is just warning you of MY experience... like I said program looks wonderful .. but I am a Sales Manager usually having no less than 5 salespersons under me and I have since organanized a sales business of my own, which I will be implementing when I get back from closing sales training at the new company I start working for next Thursday so as far as lazy ... typically I work no less than 100 hours a week and expect to somehow be paid.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
I personally met a gal that is making good dough with this company. I am considering changing careers and taking advantage of this unique opportunity. The girl I mention is a go-getter! Sales is not EASY and you must have to get off your duff to be successful.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
I have been working for Crescent as the northeastern Louisiana Regional Manager now for several months, and just wanted to clear up some of the myths on the board:
First, you are not charged a dime for the laptop out of pocket. The company does, however deduct $25 from your first 12 commisions, because they have had problems with people taking off with the laptops. I was done with the 'laptop deposits' after about ten days. Secondly, the $39.00/mo. fee for 'administrative services' is for anyone who does not reach 12 contracts or 'sales' per month. If you are not meeting this amount anyway, you are most likely starving. This is just one more incentive to do well as a salesperson.
Crescent is a dream come true for me as an employee, as well as for our merchants, and my clients. Having worked for another company in the industry, I can tell you first hand the Crescent's offering, and their support, both to me as an employee, as well as to its merchants, is out of this world. Here are a few examples:
-With most processing companies, a merchant needs to spend $2,000-$6,000 in equipment. /// Crescent's equipment is FREE.
-The average hold time (for technical support or customer service) in the payment processing industry is 30-40 minutes. /// Crescent's average hold time is 30-40 seconds.
-Most PCs require dozens of pages of paperwork, then driving across town to meet the FedEx guy to send in an application. /// I fill out no paperwork, simplay plug in my laptop and upload applications.
In addition, the support, flexibility and encouragement I get from everyone at our corporate offices makes me feel like I am an important member of a team. Crescent's slogan is "A client...for life" and I just may be an employee for life.
Best,
Kevin R. --West Monroe, LA

Re: Crescent Processing Company
I am on the other end of this company's line...I own a small business. There telephone personnel are relentless and if one of you poor sales people did walk in at this time i would bite your head off. (no fault of yours) I can not get them to stop calling or shut up once they get through. If you are not with this company yet I have a suggestion run run fast far far away. this is the kind of company that makes small business people angry.
I had a friend that fell for there line and ended up buying all new equipment because the one she had "has a chip in it" that was bunk my company programed it with out a problem.
Just a heads up form a consumer

Re: Crescent Processing Company
I've read all the whinning in these posts....wow, lots of negative responses. Ever think that's why you're not successful?
I heard about CPC from a friend who left and just went back to work with CPC, he did $1200-$1700 a WEEK! I just started and in 3 weeks I've made over $5000! Sure, some of the leads are bad, but 75% are GOOD! And if you can't sell 12 a month maybe you shouldn't bin sales? I'm doing 7-8 a week, 3-4 calls a day....70 miles a day average total drive time...went to Staples and got Bus.Card paper and printed up my own business cards. Maybe change you GOAL to 10 a week instead of 12 a month and you'd all do better????
I haven't had so much fun "selling" in MY LIFE! It's easy...with the right ATTITUDE....I'm NOT selling...I'm saving merchants MONEY...and if I can't/don't...I don't "sell" them. AND I live in a state where the population is smaller than most cities where most of you live. I work in a city(with surrounding towns) where the population is only 125,000!! I can't imagine how much more I could sell if I lived where you live! Do you have to "work", yes....do you have to call in many times a day...yes....do you get paid if you don't "sell"..NO. Please tell me where I can NOT work and make money...I'll quit too.....silly people. Crescent has the best "deal" around...google merchant services and see for yourself! It's all what you make it...it's all about YOU...Don't pass up the opportunity to make $100,000 a year because you read posts from a bunch of negative people about how THEY aren't successful...who cares...becasue they can't hack it doesn't mean you can't...right?

Re: Crescent Processing Company
I have done some research on this company.
Crescent Processing is a member of the BBB in Goodstanding. From my expereinces monitoring other companies on here in the MLM industry.. I know that if they are members of the BBB and pass their business background check then they are legit.
Does this mean this is the right fit for everyone...? No.
But, as far as the company itself and their marketing. I feel they are legit.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
I joined this forum just to reply about Crescent.
My take is different, from the merchants point of view.
EVERYTHING I was told when I signed up was a lie.
I really believe that this is the companys policy.
They are so very good at it. In this area they are consistant.
Please avoid this place like grim death itself.
Applys if you are selling or buying.
Remember, experience is NOT the best teacher.
An informed decision based on good advice will save you a

Hey Kevin
Are you still working with Crescent Processing and is your opinion of them still positive? Have you found the leads to be good and are the leads prepared to meet you and allow you to make your presentation? Can you call the lead to check directions or if you are running late? Has the company been a diligent payer of your commissions and do they process the applications quickly? Who installs the equipment and have you had many merchant complaints? What's your opinion on the fees charged to the merchant? Are they comparable or maybe better than the competition? Crescent's employee agreement doesn't seem unreasonable if you sell your quota and do as they say. It does seem that there may be some number crunching to help the merchant estimate their monthly fees. Have you been able to help them in this way and do you get good support from Crescent on these matters? Thanks for your help!!

Re: Crescent Processing Company
I just started working for Crescent Processing last Thursday. Since then I have been given a grand total of two appointments. The first guy said he wanted to speak to his business partner which I think was B.S..My appointment today was out of town. I did get her phone number and called her to which she replied and I quote "I told the girl on the phone I was happy with my current processor". What a kick in the groin that was. I hate to sound negative but the appointments I've got so far were not too warm and fuzzy. I'll give it one more chance but I don't have another appointment until Wednesday. What happened to the 2 to 4 appointments per day? So far I've wasted alot of gas with nothing to show for it. By the way I live in S.Florida where the economy is probably better than the rest of the country. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to here them

Re: Crescent Processing Company
yeah its true that do they free equipment buts it only a free placement not a terminal for the merchant to keep. Plus there rates are not comparable with other companys that offer cost plus for the rates. crescent only does a flat rate with no discount for check/debit card rates. for example alot fo merchant companies out there offer a credit and debit rate. Credit would be around 1.6 and check/debit rate around 1.29. or the best would be to do cost plus. just be charged a rate about the cost. which will make your statement look kind of long but u you will save me money that way. just have to be careful on what type of processor to choose. always look them up on bbb.org. always be careful many processors are just not very honest. for example google the information n cms(certified merchant services) and see what they did that caused them to be shut down.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
Hi there,
I just started working for Crescent this week. Yes they do send you a dell laptop and get appointments for you. If you have like having fun then this is the place for you. It is a very easy job. You walk in introduce yourself ask if there is a place to plug the laptop in. The battery does not last very long and you do not want it to die and have to start over. Once you get your passwords in then you just play a 5 minute video. If they still want it then go put in the contract.
Even if they just want the credit card and the check conversion guess what you just earned $220 not bad for less than an hour.
On my very first one I sold the service. Remember we give them the machines they just pay for service that is all.
I also sell Avon so I was looking for something to do between it.
Let me know if this helps.

I just took a position with the company after researching, reading everything and really praying over the whole thing. They provide you with a laptop. You are charged $300 for the laptop and they take like $20-$29 out your checks when you start selling ( They do not charge your account right away at all, They have to do this to cover their own expenses because of all the dishonest people out there trying to get a free laptop) It is taken out your earnings and after your 14th sale, I believe they give you the money back. If you get your laptop and you start working and three days later you decide you dont like it.. Then send the laptop and everything back and they will not charge you for the laptop. ITS NOT FREE IF YOU DONT STAY WITH THE COMPANY, plus it is programmed with all www.CrescentProcessing.com info. You cant do much with it but work with the company. Reason they have a $300 charge - People are simply dishonest. They take the job thinking they are getting a free laptop and then when they get it in the mail they quit. Word to wise. The laptop is programmed for the company. You can only work on the laptop and do stuff for the company on the laptop.. its for work. It would cost you a couple hundred just getting a computer programer to re-program the thing to get it to work with anything else. It doesn't have internet access either. SO, do not apply with the company if you are not serious and only want a free laptop. You waste your time. I went through the interview and I asked a ton of questions. I also did research online. You get the good with the bad in any sales job. POINT BLANK - THIS IS SALES!!! There is no way around it. Even if you have a laptop do the presentation you still have to talk to the business owners and handle objections. NO LIES about it. You do have a quota of 14 sales per a month and if you do not meet your quota then they charge you $39 for the month for the cost of leads. There is no reason why you can not meet your quota for the month if you are doing your job. One thing I see is people thinking they are getting a free laptop and walking in and not having to sale a dang thing.. This is not the case. The company is looking for closers. You do have to overcome objections. If you are new to sales they do train you but you can also do a ton of training with books, online training and working with your team leader. So there will be a learning curve if you have never done sales or you are new to the merchant industry. There is very good money in it once you get your feet wet and you learn the industry but you cant just go out for a week and then give up. If you do not like people saying NO to you then dont even waste your time applying. You can make money but you must set yourself up for people saying NO. If you can not handle rejection. Dont waste your gas, or time. The one nice thing is the appointments are double confirmed. So why on earth would someone agree to see someone, get double confirmed and then say no.. Because sometimes they just do.. that is what you are there for.. to put a face with the company and handle objections. This is Sales... Sales... Sales..... If you are just walking into this then you might want to get a few sales books and brush up... you can also go to www.******com and get free sales training. The hardest part is handling objections and waiting to get paid. Ask yourself this.. Can you handle objections? Can you handle rejections? They are not saying NO to you .. they are saying NO to the company and services. Just do the training, work really close with your team manager and plug into positive training everyday. If you have no income, no money for Gas and your rent is due today.. This might not be the right time for you.. because it can take a while to get paid. My friend works for the company and loves it. She does very well. This is why I decided to try it out. In real estate they say you should have one years income put aside to take care of you and your family because that is how long it can take to make a $$$$$$. Same thing. If you have a spouse that is helping you at home... You do not need income today and looking at the company as a quick fix then it will work out just fine for you. As far as a merchant and a company to work for.. I think the training is set up well, the recruiter was very upfront and honest with me about everything. I came at her with every objection and question I could after doing my research. She even addressed the issues on scam.com I think the positive with the company is The appointments are pre-set Double confirmed You are a contract worker and can work your own schedule. They do want 40 hours a week from you but you can do the things you need to do. If your a mom or single parent.. This is great for doctors appointments No weekends and NO late nights. Training- The training is good and you get A+ customer support. The products and services are good. Again, This is sales!!! I will come back in a while and let you know how I did. I am going to give it a three month mark.. If I am not doing well within three months then I will not continue. If I am doing well, I will stick with it. I like the FREEDOM!

Re: Crescent Processing Company
I worked for these people for about 1 month. It's a complete rip off and lie. They offer "Free Equiptment " but is anything but Free. They charge "corporate fee's and monthly fee's for the use of the "free equiptment" .
They try to get people locked in on 4 year contract's again chaging them monthly fee's, annual fee's and corporate fee's all add up to what one could reasonably just go out and purchase the equiptment for in about 1 year anyway.
They claim you just go in play the video and it sells itself. The fact is it does not. Even when you get a sale most mercaht s only take the credit card terminal and maybe a pin pad and if you rip off the merchant and get all the monthly fee's and corporate fee's after their $25 per sale laptop deduction you might make $200.
That is assuming their conservative underwriters don't kill the deal. there are also neat tricks they play like giving the deal to wholesale if you don't get everything in on time and you lose the commission.
I closed 6 sales in 2 week's. Underwritng declined 2 a third one cancelled a fourth one was taken away and given to wholesale. so for all my effort's I spent over $300 in Gasoline and made about $500 and then they also do not pay on time and you have to fight to get your check's.
Crescent Processing delivers on none of their promises. you will spend more money on gasoline there tha you can ever make.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
I own a small business that was solicited by a Crescent Pocessing salesman. I enrolled in their service and when I received their equipment I immediately processed $75000 in credit card sales I had been holding to take advantage of Crescent's better rates.
The very next morning my commercial bank called me to ask why someone (Crescent) was withdrawing huge sums of money from my account. Crescent, instead of depositing money in my account was withdrawing the funds they had processed. The bank stopped it immediately but Crescent still managed to to collect a fee for doing nothing. They never put the money in the bank account and attempted to withraw funds they had processed dollar for dollar.
I sued Crescent in local Small Claims Court and got a $2000 judgment. They have failed to pay the judgment.
I would advise other small businesses not to do business with Crescent.

However, I do know that there are alot of payment processing companies that are setting up shop all over town, and with the economy like it is, I don't want to burn my bridges.
Can anyone help?? Your input is appreciated!!!
Thanks!

Re: Crescent Processing Company
Don't waste your time or gas. I worked there for a month and made almost $1,000 . 1/3rd of the sales cancel another 1/3rd are declined by underwriting and few people but the whole package most take the terminal and maybe a pin pad and you make $225 before the deduction for the laptop of $50.
After I quit they called me back offering me a better deal with their new sales manager. The person on the video who is respresented as owning the company does not exist.
they paid Terry Bradshaw a fee to endorse them it's a big fat scam. Do some research get hooked up with 1st Data or one of the top companies that will pay salary and commission.
This is just another run like dogs for nothing job!

Re: Crescent Processing Company
Just signed up with them today and am eager to get started. I haven't heard anything convincing from anyone on this forum as to how the company actually scams people.
I researched the opportunity, checked out the BBB and had all of my questions answered. I'm in a huge market so I don't think sales will be that hard to come by.
I also compared their fees to other merchant service providers and that are as competive or even better than many. I'll let everyone here know how I make out.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
The way they are a rip off is all the extra fee's they change merchant's. like a $65 corporate fee on top of a 470 annual fee and a $35 charge for a pin pad and a $5 monthly fee for it's use. I can buy the pin pad for $19 and nobody else chages a monthly fee for a pin pad.
Where Crescent get's them is every price of equiptment has a monthly fee attached. Pin pad $5 signature capture $7 cheack reader $7.50 and so on also they charge a monthly fee depending on how educated the merchant is starting at $7.50 month and the managers lower it to make a deal.
In the end this free equiptment valued at about $200 for a terminal and pin pad cost the merchant up front $135 and an extra $750 to $30 month depending on what equiptment they take. they even have a monthly fee for gift cards.
1st data sells the equiptment at wholesale cost they offer a month to month contract Cresecnt tries to tie them in for 4 years with a $350 early termination fee.
1st data will go month to month with no termination fee's. They offer cost plus pricing not this game of .10 percent lower than what they have now.
But when you get out in the market place you will learn it isn;t all it's played up to be. Over 80% of my appointment's were no show's. Most day's i had 1 -2 appointment's and were typically 40 or miles from my home in a major city.
then as I said their underwriting is a joke they decline merchant's they feel might hae a risk of chargeback's.

Re: Crescent Processing Company
WOW! This is news to me. It seems like ALL Credit Processing Companies are really scam artists from what i've read. I was attempting to work for another one which promised anywhere from $400.00-$2000.00 per sale w/ residual income!, hard to pass up,huh? The only thing different is that I was not hearing all the bad things about getting paid. As far as the business owners go, I believe I justified in my head selling to them because anything they pay towards their businesses is a write-off anyway, so once I get my script, i'm going a "knockin'".
