Root of All Evil?

The God Delusion

Excellent video exploring religion, faith and how it
encourages irrational thought, actions, violence and
threatens our world today.

"Richard Dawkins explores the state of the three Abrahamic religions in the world today, from the political influence of rich and powerful Christian fundamentalist institutions in America to the deadly clash of Judaism, Christianity and Islam in the Middle East.
He describes the Holy Land as the least enlightened place in the world, a microcosm of the threat to rational values and civilisation posed by religion, whose irrational roots, he says, are nourishing intolerance and murder."

About minute 39:30 into the video Dawkins conducts
an interesting interview.

Where did you cut and paste this nonsense from, KKKarl?

Religion is worlds most virulent disease.. It is responsible for all the hatred, bigotry, and division we see today.

I'm pretty sure he just types words like "conspiracy" "OMGLIBRUHL!" "tinfoil" "Glenn Beck porn" "Rush Limbaugh arts and crafts" etc. into his Yahoo search engine and just copies whatever comes up.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, in their eagerness to get rich, have wandered away from the faith and caused themselves a lot of pain.
I think that superstition (religion) also holds a great place in the annals of evil.

Yes. Exactly.

How many people's only justification of brutal and horrific acts of cruelty are religious in nature?

How many people have done horrible things because "God told them to?"

How many people have used their religion to justify doing anything to someone else that they wouldn't want done to themselves?

i was SAYIN the words USED are NOT the PRIMARY cause of their acts BUT the FEELINGS they have that they EMOTE into actions!? the question we CANT answer is what would take it's place if no religious thought existed!? in other words, would the absence of religious thought eliminate violent emotions!?
