Were previous presidents asked to show birth cert?

I don't remember any president before Obama being asked to produce their birth certificate. Why do you think it's that?

Please note that the topic isn't "Obama has/hasn't produced his birth certificate." The topic is "Why weren't previous presidents asked to produce their birth certificate?"

It's not really that Dumbles.

Maybe it's because some hate fueled kooks are so fucking bigoted and brain-dead, they'd rather believe anything or anyone other than the obvious truth.

I think it's because other presidents didn't have a "African-" before the "American"

How about drop the African part and call him what he is...an American...I may not like him, but the term "African American" needs to go away.

I agree with you the the term "something-American" should go away. However, his point is that he was asked to show his birth certificate because he is black.

My thoughts exactly. Even when it's actually necessary to mention race, I prefer the term "Black". There's nothing worse than pedantic attitudes about semantics (in this case, the illusion of political correctness).

I'm glad that someone decided to take the high road here. I strongly dislike Obama and I still wouldn't dare to call him halfbreed, obozo, etc. on account of disagreements.

Re: Were previous presidents asked to show birth c

The fact that his father is Kenyan is NOT a requirement by the constitution.

The fact that he grew up in another country is NOT a requirement by the constitution.

Yes, you may dislike him because of these reasons, but you don't have to make up law requirements that don't exist.
