Skype Love Scams

Be aware... Its so feeble its almost laughable but I know some one will get caught out.. Going by the name of Anna she will establish contact with you via Skype.. States she is from Holland but in reality her English shows she is Eastern European.. I went along for the ride over a period of days with emails and photos being sent until the request.. I have 45KGs of Gold Dust.. I need to get out of europe to sell.. Please loan me some money so can come be with you?.. What a joke.. but as I said.. some poor person will get caught out... I have her photos and recorded the webcam discussions she wanted.. if anyone is interested... Unfortunately the law is not interested here as it happens outside of state borders... So be aware and be safe people.

don't send money. tell her to go dance in a club until she can afford to come, then she can stay free with you.

While the local law enforcement agency might not be interested, there are scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting sites that would love to add the information you have to their online collections of scammers.

That way when a suspicious potential victim goes looking for information he/she will find your post and then that potential victim does not become a scam victim because you took the time "get the word out". Thanks!!

Wasting a scammer's time legally and safely is called "scambaiting". If you google that word, you will find sites where you can read scambaits, post up the emails and email addresses of scammers, ask questions and learn all about that hobby.

I personally wouldn't recommend scambaiting because once a scammer like that thinks you're a good target the next thing you know 20 other people will have your AIM/Skype/whatever and will be trying to scam you.

Information of people that scammers think can be turned into victims gets shared and distributed a lot. Even if you're doing it safely it'll usually lead to more harm, especially when there is very little to gain from scambaiting somebody.

Yes, that is the point, the scammers send you their copy/paste emails and chat messages instead of potential victims.

Yes, then you have your "pick of the litter" to chose which scammer type to scambait. This way the scammer sells the baiter's email address to other scammers instead of victim's or potential victim's email addresses. A scammer that sells a list of baiter addresses to his mate, is a scammer that is in trouble when the mate discovers he has a list of non-paying people.

Please show links to websites that prove that someone who has scambaited safely has done harm to anyone or anything. There is a great deal that can be gained by scambaiting, obviously you have never scambaited properly, safely and legally or you would not make such broad, incorrect assumptions.
