Mutual Warranty: Beware
I signed up with Mutual Warranty; home appliances insurance company. About 10 days later, my toilet got blocked, I called the company right away but was told that plumbing was not covered. I read out the clause in the contract that specified plumbing covearge but the customer service represetative would not budge. Finally after asking to speak to her supervisor I was able to speak to someone who confirmed that plumbing problems were indeed covered and assured me that a plumber would contact me that very evening and that someone would be out by the next morning.
24 hours later; 3 kids and wife going crazy, unable to use toilets, shovers, sinks, I finally called a local plumbing service who came right out and fixed the problem.
Mutual Warranty has a 30 day opt out clause with a $35 cancellation fee so I right away called and cancelled the policy. Guess what, the moment I cancelled the policy a plumber called. I told him that I had cancelled the policy and that his services were not required.
1 month later after numerous phone calls Mutual Warranty reimbursed me, less $235, claiming that an estimate had been made. Now Mutual warranty will not respond to Emails, you cannot get through to customer service.
Beware this company, customer service is rude, is only interested in sucking money from you, they will NOT provide you with promised coverage and you will spend hours on the phone. They are a complete scam.

Can anyone give me an ext. number to SOMEONE that will actually return your calls or answer their line?? I can't get a REAL person to answer or call me back. In the last few weeks I have left more than 30 messages and 20 emails for ANYONE that will call me. I have not gotten ONE response. This company owes me money for a microwave that JERRY CHAPMAN authorized. I was told the check was being mailed three weeks ago. The company ALSO owes the repairman over 400.00 for the work that he did. They told him the same thing.."the check is in the mail." Can ANYONE give me phone numbers or names of people to call there? I only get voicemail. I did try to call and select the sales dept. I actually DID get someone there. DAVE. I begged him to not send me to a voicemail, to find a PERSON, a MANAGER, to talk to. He said he was on a different floor. BUT, he said he would send me to HIS manager. "Mark Armstrong". He sent me right to a voice mail for a person named PAUL CRUISE, I think that is what it said. Well, that is one of the people I left a message for last week that didn't call back. I am at my wits END. I really believe I have been scammed by this company.

Well, I cancelled today, after another 48 hour period with NO contact after we were promised it again. I was told we would get our check within 30 days. I told them if I didn't have it within that time, that I would be calling, because I'm hearing rumors that they are not reimbursing people. Not that that does any good, but if their conversations are recorded, at least its on record that they promised me 30 days.
*sigh* I feel so stupid.
I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I sincerely think everyone should be filing a complaint.

Have you considered taking your complaint to the Attorney General?
We have experienced nothing but problems ourselves, with Mutual Warranty. I have submitted complaints now to the Better Business Bureau of Denver and the Attorney General's Office.

I think all the customers are having problems with Mutual Warranty. We have waited some six or seven weeks now for a repair. Today I've been on hold for well over an hour, and once speaking with someone, I was told I must remember they have moved from Canada to Panama, and they are very busy.
My recommendation is to also file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office, as I am doing along with the BBB of Denver.

SAme problems... being on hold..asking not to be put on hold and then still waiting. ... excuses about people on a different floor... aanyone know who the ceo of this "company" is? I will contact the newspapers as I have friends at the Denver Post. They want to screw me out of money, they're barking up the wrong tree.

WE are not falling for the sympathetic crap that you are spewing on this site. Most of us have tried to contact the other moron that posted here that said HE worked there. So do us all a favor and spend your time handling your customers the way your policy SAYS you will.

I have had problems with Mutual Warranty also. My oven went out and I called it in August 1. It took two weeks for the contractor to call me and setup an appointment. Then 3 days later the contractor called back and said I'd have to call Mutual Warranty and ask for a different contractor because they were refusing to do work for Mutual Warranty. Apparently they weren't getting paid either, since April they said. So, I called Mutual back (every day) and got the run around, 'we will dispatch the contractor again', ' we will find you a new contractor', 'we will call you back tomorrow', etc. All to no avail. So, today I got on the Live Chat on their website and wouldn't get off until someone called me (their number was busy all day) and gave me a new contractor's information. Then I called the contractor to verify that they would work for Mutual, etc. before I let the rep off the phone. Hopefully this new contractor will call me back today to setup an appointment. If not then I will demand a full refund. It's already been over 3 weeks and I've gotten absolutely nothing from this company. Just make sure you use live chat and keep a copy of the conversation in a text file. Then you will have something to use against them if you take them to court. I'm saving all of my live chats with them and will only chat with them from now on so I will have that info. I could go buy a whole new oven for less than I paid for my yearly premium, what a rip off.

I was contacted by E.pimentel as well and told him that I requested a refund. This was after two weeks of being brushed off regarding my service request.
Coincidentally, the very next day a contractor (finally) called. I told them I cancelled my contract with Mutual Warranty the day prior.
Coincidentally, the next day I get a call from Ernesto (E.pimentel's partner) who said he was following up on the service call. I explained to him that I had already talked to his partner and that I requested a refund.
I appreciated the phone calls and being able to rant my concerns with the company but nothing has been done since then. Ireally think that a lawsuit will be needed to get any of my money back, as I was promised (per my request) by both of them, that they were to email me a request to honor my refund.
It's been another two weeks and am still waiting for that confirmation, even though I have sent them a few reminder emails.
Please Mutual Warranty, do what is right before the hammer comes down.

I talked to one of Mutual Warranty Representatives today. She told me the owner of the company SCAMMED IT´S own employs. They though they where doing the right think since all they started to pay contractors, and solve issues. but the problem was the owner did not want to pay any one. HIS NAME IS VADIM VERVEDA, ALSO KNOWN AS DEVON JOHNSTON, VAD VERVEDA...HIS ACOMPLIS NAME IS OLMEDO ZAGIA LOCAL PANAMA RESIDENT.BOTH OF THEM WHERE REPORTED TO THE AUTHORITIES, BUT THE CLAIM COULD NOT HAVE BEEN PROCESSED DO TO LACK OF EVIDENCE. THEY WILL BE SENDING ME A PICTURE OF THEM FOR YOU TO KNOW THERE LOOKS.
STARTING TODAY YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY SERVICE SINCE THE OPERATION WAS SHUT DOWN. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THEM TO STOP SCAMING US IS TO REPORT THEM TO THE BANK AS FRAUD AND NOTIFY YOU POLICE OR THE OAK LAND POLICE. SEARCH THE NET FOR VADIM VERVEDA.

I was fortuanate to get a repair done, after over a month of calls and complaints. However, I was told the $45 deductible would be waived and it was not. When attempting to reach the supervisors to get reimbursed their line was always busy. I tried calling today and find the line is disconnected and the site is no longer available. When they changed their number last month w/o noting it on the old line I should have seen that as a red flag. If anyone has good info as to how to get some resolution please post it. It will be very appreciated and for all the good advice already posted, thank you.

For everyone's peace of mind - these two individuals did not escape and are still being held by Panamanian police. Word is there's plenty of evidence to keep'em locked for a while... the whole thing is on TV and on the newspapers, and all pertinent authorities have been notified.

I wish that I had known about this site before. I was just about to write the BBB because I have had nothing good to say about the company and today when I went to their site and call I couldn't access either. Now to find out they have pulled out...
My history...
I signed up with them back in June, switching from another company. Right after that my AC went out and they gave me the same routine others have had about the ridiculous maintenance records. It also was near impossible to get through on their upgrading phone service. They sent someone out eventually (not soon enough in a Texas summer). The service guy said it wouldn't be covered and charged me $45. This was not supposed to happen, but because I couldn't get through on the phone I paid it. I am still waiting on the refund I was told that I would get for that.
The next call I placed was for my refrigerator. The ice maker had gone out. After a week of calling I was told they could not service it and to have someone come out and they would reimburse me for that.
Today I went to call about pest control....no website....no phone connection. I called the BBB and they told me to put it in writing. That is when I discovered this site and the information that they have pulled chocks as they say. I would like to know if there will be a class action lawsuit and if not how I could go about initiating one. Contact me if you have any information.

Guys, just to let you know, although the webpage for MUTUAL WARRANTY is up again ... does't mean that the company is back on buisness. If you try to get an agreement with mutual it's probable that you receive a call from DEVON OR VADIM, OLMEDO, CAROLA using different names. DON'T FALL FOR IT..... PLEASE DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM.... THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!! CROOKS!!!!!

LET'S GET ORGANIZED & GET THIS GUY!!!
I spoke with the DA in Denver & the AG's office, supposedly Vadim Verveda has been arrested in Panama. We've got to contact everyone and anyone we can to get this guy extradited to the USA and got him on RICO and fleeing the country. Post you complaints with the FBI's internet crime complaint center at www.ic3.gov. Also file with the FBI, the BBB, you local police department. Keep all records of correspondance, attempts of correspondence, times, dates, who you talked to, etc...Is there anyone out there who has legal connections? This is a class action ready. Included in the suit should be Merchant Services, the company that is handling their internet transactions. They have been informed that Mutual has defrauded their customers and that they are a party to the crime since they are continuing to transact on Mutual's behalf. We need to organize and pursue if we have any chance of seeing justice or any of our money again.

I will not go into my issues because as everyone can see I am not the only one. Thank you to all who have posted on here.... I too feel like I am at the end of my rope. I filed a complaint with the IC3 today and am willing to join any class action lawsuit. I wish I had connections in that department, but dont. I have never had to deal with any bs like this before, so if there are other things I need to do, please let me know!!!
I tried to call the number listed on the "US Warranty" page. The person informed me that "some 'yoyo' jumped to conclusions and posted that on there". They are not affiliated with them. (But who knows what to belive any more. He said they took their website down) So if anyone is thinking about calling the number on this page, don't waste your time like I did... it will get you nowhere. Nor will any of the email addresses or phone numbers listed on Mutual's site.

does anyone have any advice about how to get the money back that was stolen by mutual warranty or is it just a total loss. i have complained to the FBI, BBB, Consumer Affairs and all other similar sites. i was told by my bank that a charge can not be reversed after 30 days, but is there a catch when money is taken in a scam.

I SPOKE TO 3 SALES REPRESENTATIVES TODAY WHO ALL TOLD ME THEY ARE LOCATED IN DELAWARE. WITHOUT PREJUDICE I ASKED ALL 3 WHY THEY HAD SPANISH ACCENTS IN DELAWARE, EVEN THE RECORDING ON THEIR 800 # HAS A WOMAN WITH A SPANISH ACCENT, I FINALLY PRYED IT OUT OF THIRD GUY, THEY ARE LOCATED IN DA DA DA PANAMA

These guys have to stop trying to steal our money. They have opened 3 other companies since the mutual warranty scam. They have opened patriot home warranty, home comfort warranty, & us home warranties. STOP TRYING TO STEAL AND GET A JOB

Avans technologies, just happens to be AVANS. CA. The CA means canada - like devon johnston or vadim verveda or MUTAL WARRANTY SCUMBAGS. I guess he didnt want to use his panama web designer this time.

I got a quote but the quote price is blank and I was only customer number p52 which logs in consecutive order. What kind of idiot would advertise a website that doesnt even work

Hi guys
I found some pretty solid information regarding this Goof. I worked for Mutual Warranty way back in 2005 and I have been following this Goof for a while now. He skiped town on me and owes me 5k. I thought it was a legit company until one day he just left. Anyways, this just came to me, I remember when he was working here his dad would come in and help him out. His Dad's name is Gary Johnston and he is very involved in Rugby Canada. He would know where he is. Now I looked up his Dad and tracked him down. His phone number is 250-388-7441. His Dad I know was also involved in the company, his Dad would also put money into the company and therefore is just as liable. His dads email address is garyjohnston@hotmail.com. He lives in Oak Bay on Vancouver Island in the city of Victoria , British Columbia, Canada. Anyways I have tried to contact him here today but no luck. If we all try maybe we will get some where. His Father is an accomplise. Its a new lead......Lets get this Goof F%&$
