MED PRO Tech Incorporated

Hi,

I replied to an add on *****slist and received an email from a Heather Smith telling me I also needed to do a online interview to get this work at home job that paid 18 - 20 hr which I was to have a yahoo messenger account and talk that way. Was supposed to send me a check by fed ex for 350 dollars so I could purchase this accounting software also I was told I would recieve a HP laptop in the mail too. Everyday I am supposed to check in at 8 am central time online.
Has anyone heard of this? Sounds to good to be true.
I asked what the company name was and was told this Med Pro Tech Inc.
Thank you

Re: MED PRO Tech Incorporated

Yes, have heard of it, it is the 'cash the fake check' type scam.

The check will be from a closed bank account sent with a stolen billing account number via UPS or FedEx by another victim who thinks he has a legit job sending out checks for what ever reason. You are suppose to cash the check which will be for something like $3,000 not $350 then you are suppose to Western Union the cash to someone else who, as the story goes, is going to ship you that laptop. That 'someone else' is just the scammer using a fake name to pick up you cash.

Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form when you send your cash, not the name, address, country or even the gender of the receiver. All the clerk does is hand off the cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Western Union and moneygram will also never tell the sender who picked up the money using what name, the address where it was picked up or even in which country it was picked up in.

Just stop emailing that scammer, don't bother to tell him that you know that he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their cash via Western Union so he can pick it up using a photochopped ID and fake name. Before deleting and blocking that scammer, you could post up the email address and some of the emails themselves. Doing so will just make your post more googlable for other potential suspicious victims to find.

Now that you have responded to a scammer, he will try again to get you to send him your cash. You are in his "potential sucker" list and he will try a different scam on you. He will send you dozens of fake job offers, fake banker with millions, fake trunk boxes of gold, whatever scam he has cut-n-paste emails for. In fact, he could even sell your email address to all his scamming buddies as someone who might just send them cash.

There are not legit jobs printing, mailing, or cashing checks for ANY reason. There are not legit jobs using Western Union or moneygram. No. Exceptions. Ever.

Always post here and on every scam-warning-fraud-watching site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.
