Top this...

The very top salespeople in any industry don't waste their time going to networking meetings. They take the same amount of time and use it to stay in front of customers.

- Larry Wingett

Be the kind of person others admire, can count on, trust, and enjoy spending time with. After you have developed that reputation, people will start to ask you what you do and you will be amazed at how many people will want to work with you. You will attract others based on your character.

Great thread starter, SJA!

Here's a few of my favs.

that no talent, no self-denial, no brains, no character, are
required to set up in the fault-finding business.

it. Your time is too precious to be sacrificed in wasted
days combating the menial forces of hate, jealously, and
envy. Guard your fragile life carefully. Only God can shape
a flower, but any foolish child can pull it to pieces.

These apply to MLM - and - were made by a self made Billionaire:

" I would rather earn 1% off a 100 people's efforts than 100% of my own efforts. "

He also said:

" I believe in the supreme worth of the individual and in his right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. "

I guess most anti-MLMr's don't have any positive quotes to share?!!?

Too 'deep' for their narrow little minds I'd guess.

I thought the quote regarding "becoming a man of value" was good. You can't become a person of value by going around asking people to buy into your MLM. Having a skill that is of value to the rest of society might do it, though.

Re: Top this...

I'm a supervisor where I work. The eyebrows went up when I put a frame on my desk with this Larry Winget quote in it:

You are not paid to work hard. In fact, you are not paid for effort at all. You are paid for results.

It's not what you do; it's what you get done.

It was more of a reminder for myself but when asked I said it about summed up how I feel and it did improve the productivity overall from everyone who read it. LOL.

Interesting perspective, I guess.

Though I don't ask people to "buy into" my MLM, exactly. I'm offering them a way to "buy into" themselves, and take control of their very own business.

It's just a matter of perspective, as usual.

Quote:
To create a new business that makes money, and
more significantly, employs others, and more significantly, gives a product to a customer that improves their life, is our greatest challenge, our greatest opportunity, and the greatest gift, far greater than any charity that we can give our fellow person.
~ Paul Zane Pilzer: Economist, entrepreneur, and author

Successful people are always looking for opportunities
to help others. Unsuccessful people are always
asking, 'What's in it for me?
~ Brian Tracy

You can't help someone get up a hill without getting closer to the top yourself.
~ H. Norman Schwarzkopf
MLM is about people reaching out to others, to help them, to make a difference with the product or the business. If theirs no fit, that's OK. No harm, no foul.

Sorry you don't see it that way, Richard.

But, if like most people who start in MLM, they lose money, how are you helping them?

Most? How?

How do people "lose money"? In a legitimate MLM, how?

Most, if not all of the legit MLM's I'm aware of offer at least a 90% refund if you're not happy with your purchase/investment. Also, if your purchase is for the product or service, regardless,(hint, hint, this is a GOOD thing!) of the 'opportunity' to 'sell it', how does one "lose"?

If people do "lose", it's usually their fault, for not doing their homework, not MLM's, IMO.

ALL business is a risk. MLM is no different.

Go in with both eyes open.

Besides, what's the financial 'risk' compared to a B&M business, or a Franchise? The comparison, as far as financial risk, is almost laughable. In MLM, it's a few hundred dollars or less!
