Is this legit ?? Typing and mailing work.

O.K. People, your opinion and solid info required on this one,if you please.
I've ben doing a search on google for 'homeworking jobs' and came across ''www.mailingortyping.co.uk''.
Does anyone know anything about this company or the work they are offering ??
They say that they will pay £1.10 per envelope or £8.00 per page of copytyping. All materials and equipment (£800 worth apparently)is delivered to your home and all work is collected by them. You are paid in cash apparently. They ask for £30 up front, which is refunded on your first batch of work.
Have a look for yourselves. I need to know whether this is genuine or not.
I hope it is,because I'm geting desperate now !
Anyone ??

Re: Is this legit ?? Typing and mailing work.

It doesn't sound legit to me. They're offering way too much money for just mailing the envelopes. Not to mention, I've never heard of companies outsourcing their mail work. Another red flag is that there's no privacy policy or terms and conditions.

Re: Is this legit ?? Typing and mailing work.

100% scam. All they want is £30. After they got your payment, you will not hear from them again.

Read flags of scam.

1) Unreasonably high rate of payment for mailing envelopes.

2) They will send you £800 worth of equipment because you paid £30 without interview. Sounds reasonable?

3) They send/receive money in cash and do not care if you pay taxes.

They claim this:

A1 Mailing and Typing Services was established over 18 years ago
But the whois lookup says this:

The testamonials are all exactly this:

This is to confirm that I have received the sum of £392.00 for typing 44 pages. My membership fee was also refunded to me.

They tell you how much they will pay you to work for them but if you are the company owner that wants to 'hire' them, then they don't have any idea how much to charge your company.

You will send the money and they will disappear.

Re: Is this legit ?? Typing and mailing work.

There are plenty of legit "jobs". Whether or not you will get hired depends upon your experience. You will also need patience and need to apply to all the companies that are looking for people with your experience.

Just like offline, no one can go out and get hired for a job without having experience or being willing to start at the bottom. There are plenty of websites that list the companies that hire work from home employees. Put your cover letter and resume together and start applying and interviewing.

Re: Is this legit ?? Typing and mailing work.

Well,I don't have any particular experience of 'working at home',but I can apply my other 'life skills'.
My problem at the moment is that I can't seem to find anything but scams !! Is there some sort of 'list' of legitimate companies/offers ?? If I don't find something worthwhile soon, then I might as well give it up as a bad job.....

Re: Is this legit ?? Typing and mailing work.

I have just come across A1 Mailing and Typing Services and nearly sent off £30 to join. First I e mailed to ask whether work is guaranteed and when I could expect it to arrive after registering. I e mailed with these questions and received a standard reply back. Not satisfied with the response, I telephoned to ask my questions. The man was very, very rude and I thought it sounded odd, so on checking on line I find out that it is a scam! Thank goodness I did my research first before parting with my cash. I telephoned the nasty man back and told him I would be reporting him to the police. What can be done to stop him ripping people off? Who should we report him to?

Re: Is this legit ?? Typing and mailing work.

Hi, I just came across with A1 mailing and typing business. I was about to send the application form and cheque but before doing so I made a few checks whether this business was for real. A lot of people on this thread made a lot of valid points to say that this is a scam. A1 is asking for the cheques to be made payable to Prism Ltd. If a company is a limited company, you can always check on Companies House on www.companieshouse.gov.uk to check whether the company is still active, dissolved, or check their previous names.

There was another website http://www.workfromhome247.co.uk/
who is asking for £25 for lifetime membership fee, will provide laptop, and their rate is double (£2.20/envelope!) My husband told me that it would have been a good income if it was true. This business hasn't got a phone for you to ring them, and asks you to send the cheque to a PO box.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Lisa

Re: Is this legit ?? Typing and mailing work.

The police are aware already about A1's illegal operation. Apparently they've used Prism Ltd to trade (which is illegal as this was owned by someone else) They also opened a bacnk account using the same name!

Stay well away. I sent them £30 deposit and they told me there was no work in my area, even though they advertised in my local paper. They won't answer emails or phone calls. Can't get my money back.

report them to your local police. They have stolen from you.

ou probably wont get your money back but if enough people file complaints then maybe the CPS might actually do something.

Re: Is this legit ?? Typing and mailing work.

Reallly disappointed. Just wrote a cheque ready to post when read all these comments. Also, when you type in postcode on Royal Mail, it gives a flat/home address as opposed to a business.

Looks like I will have to give up this work from home thing.

Hope this guy gets nailed big time

Re: Is this legit ?? Typing and mailing work.

I hope you all can get your money back. It's so important to remember that you will never get "hired" simply by paying a fee. Whenever a company wants your money make sure you know what you are getting.

Training materials: Red Flag

The only time you should be spending your money is if you are starting a business of your own. In that case, you should know exactly what you are getting for your money.

Re: Is this legit ?? Typing and mailing work.

Do not part with your money! i have just visited the address of A1. An old warehouse now converted into about 19 flats of which number 8 is the so called office of A1.

Spoke on the intercom and the guy just said no one from A1 was in and to come back later.

Don't believe its legit for one minute.
