CopyThatGame IS HUGE SCAM, READ!!!

Hello

Few days ago I bought software called CopyThatGame, it claimed that with it you will be able to make backups from you video game, software, movie collection. The first problem I had with it is that it won’t do any of that, another problem I have with it which I found out after some research is that the software they are selling is free and they don’t hold the rights to it.

When you buy CopyThatGame they will give you a link from where you can download their software, after you download the software you will see that you are installing software with different name not CopyThatGame, what they give you is software called ImgBurn. After researching ImgBurn on internet, I found out that ImgBurn is free software which you can download from www.imgburn.com

After some more research on ImgBurn about CopyThatGame I found out that I’m not the only one who has been scammed, since there are many threads on the ImgBurn forum concerning CopyThatGame. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s...l=copythatgame

My advice to you is, Don’t buy CopyThatGame since it’s a HUGE SCAM!!!

Yes, ImgBurn is free and you were scammed. ImgBurn will copy DVD's and CD's. However, most games, and some movie DVD's have copy protection. This copy protection will not be copied to another disk. This is why most game disks ask you to insert the original disk. This copy protection is designed to fight software piracy. You shouldn't have any problem coping software and many movies. Games are a different story.

I was aware of the copy protection in CDs and DVDs but because of the CopyThatGame web site i was under the impression that they will give me a program that will crack that copy protection not that i would get ImgBurn which is free, let me quote them:

"Our system breaks through the latest “Unbreakable Protection” easily, all you have to do is follow either the video or text tutorial. In these tutorials I show you step by step how to make back copies of all your video games."

If i knew i was getting ImgBurn i would have never bought CopyThatGame, after all i paid for something that is free.

There are a couple dozen different ways to copy protect disks. No one program could possibly crack them all. In fact, most game companies have a different type of copy protection for each game they market. So a crack is only good for that particular game. DVD movies use something else altogether.

Anyway, the WhoIs info for CopyThatGame.com shows that the website was just registered on 3JAN2009, 4 months ago, and was registered through a private registration service in the Netherlands. I'd point out that the website itself has no 'Contact' information that I can find.

Per a thread at http://forums.afterdawn.com 'Copy That Game' was once known as 'Game Copy Pro'. It appears that 'Copy That Game' was linked to the previous name around 6FEB2009.

You may want to make a post over at Afterdawn.com in the thread I linked to above. There are some people saying they got their money back. They may be of some assistence over there.

CopyThatGame is a popular product that many affiliates of ClickBank sell.

You could use the techniques that I outlined in this thread to prevent yourself from getting scammed like this again

Yes CopyThatGame is on ClickBank as for GameCopyPro i dont see it on ClickBank. I can not say anything about GameCopyPro personaly but from what i can see on forums http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/592188 They are both selling ImgBurn or in other words scamming people the same way, but seem to be two different products all together.

It's actually very easy to get a refund from copythatgame.com since they use Clickbank as their payment processor.

Thank you for sharing your experience..you just save me money..they are a big scam...same as Rapidshare...with their premium "suck" accounts!!....They actually unable to provide you any usefull files to download..(the problem is when you pay for the permium account then you realized u can only download your buddy`s files who shared the link with you!!..so it`s better to borrow his CD..and copy it!!

gj reading the disclaimer at the bottom of the damn page -_-" on top of which you can get the price down to 14.99 by trying to leave the page 3 times. and i quote "Disclaimer: CopyThatGame is a set of text and video guides and tutorials which show you how to copy video games. We are not selling a software, however we do show you where you can download different software which can be used to copy your video games for free. Wow! CopythatGame is a great service! At first I was going to google "how to copy a movie/game" but then I realized I could pay these guys 15 bucks plus to do it for me! Thanks CopythatGame!

Yeah...

This is no different than all those Movie/Game/Warez Download site scams that charge you 30-70 bucks and just give you a link to some free Torrent program.
