Sun Germany Computers!!

Just got a email through careerbuilder.com. Not too sure whether it is a scam or not but definitely seems phishy. Maybe im being overly suspicious but it seems a little strange. Plus they have only American employees even though they are german. Plus a lot of their information leads to eastern european banks in lithuania. But as i said im not sure so let me know. See email below.

Hello ****. My name is Kay Roberts and I work for a company called Sun Germany Computers I found your resume on careerbuilder.com because we are searching for reliable professionals across the United States who are interested in a potentially lucrative partnership with an international firm.

Sun Germany Computers is a leading software company in Germany and we are currently expanding our operations in the United States. But because of various banking and legal restrictions, we are unable to open commercial bank accounts in every state. As such, Sun Germany Computers is recruiting partners to conduct simple banking transactions on our behalf.

The process is simple. If you were interested in becoming a US partner of Sun Germany Computers, you would sign an agreement that would make you an official financial representative of our company, able to accept invoice payments on our behalf. Instead of asking our American clients to conduct complicated international payment transactions (which are especially complex for German companies), we have them work with our partners to submit payments. You would then forward the payments to us, a simple transaction for an individual.

Sun Germany Computers pays its partners a 10% commission on every transaction. In addition, we will take care of any incremental tax liability you incur. Depending on which state you are in, and of course on how good business is, your monthly commissions could be as high as $4,000 per month.

If you are interested in working with us, or if you want more information, you can contact me directly at my personal email address: help@sungermany.org. I'll need your full name and mailing address so I can send you the contract and other paperwork necessary to get started.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kay Roberts

Those contact details are almost definitely fake though, but you can see that the domain was only registered on 10th September. Send an email to abuse -at- godaddy.com and they'll probably take it down quite quickly (include a link to this thread too).

It also violates the trademarks of Sun Microsystems. You might wish to send them a fax or something:

Re: Sun Germany Computers!!

Yes, this is the same scam as Audit market, Void computers, Microlabs etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. We were posting on those in May of 05, I am sure others were posting before that!!! I agree with Dynamoo, report them and others who pull this S**T to anyone that will listen (Godaddy, Sun and ????)

Hello XXXXX,

We bring our apologies for delays. We had technical problems.
Today (09/26) our agent will send checks from CARLTON TECHNOLOGIES, INC
for amount of 5000 dollars. And one check for amount of 2820 dollars.

You will get the checks 5-10 days after it had been sent. You will get
the checks by Post. You are to cash the checks after you had received
it. Charges on cashing the check can be taken from this check. It
would be better if you could cash the check on the day you receive it.
To cash check fast you can use the offices "Fast Check Cash" "Check
Cash Express" and others.

Your wages will compile 10 percent from the sum of the check. In the
other
words you get the check, take 10 percent from the sum of the check and
another sum of the check is sent to us.
Ex: the sum of the check is 1.000 USD, you get 100 USD.

You leave 10 percent from the sum of the checks the rest sum
should be sent by Western Union. When you received checks we shall
send the information of our representative in the bank.

Please write to us when you received checks.

Thank for attention, your agent Sun Germany Compuiters.

Are these the same crooks cuz when I looked up their clients name "Carlton Technolgies Inc." it was a legit site! What should I do when I recieve the checks should I wait for them to call me b4 I cash it? :)

Re: Sun Germany Computers!!

I also believe Carlton Technolgies Inc. is a legit company, it sounds like "Sun Germany Computers" stole Carlton Technolgies account information and are trying to get you to do their dirty work.

The way it works is; the checks or the bank transfers you receive from the scammers are “forged”, but they use real stolen account numbers and appear to be good, but were not authorized by the account owner. The bank will say they are okay and will clear them. Then after some time maybe 5 to 25? days after you have sent the scammer their 90%, the place you made your transaction at, informs you the check or transfer was no good. The account owners that the funds were stolen from, see the activity on their accounts and tell their bank about the theft, then their bank tells the place you made your transaction at and in turn they tell you, you are f**ked, and if you are really unlucky call the police. Read the posts of some unlucky people on the link below.

Re: Sun Germany Computers!!

Don't cash them. Take them to the police, or alernatively pass them to your bank's fraud department. Pay them in, and even if you don't get charged with being an accessory to the crime, you can bet that your BANK will remember and put it in your financial record.
