Re: Does Karma really exist?

Regrets anyone? Is there something that you did that you regret? Something you may feel that there is a debt to be repaid. If so how do you repay that debt? What do you regret doing? How do plan on repaying karma. I know this is a personal question. So no need to to get too personal. Just be general in your response.

Regrets..?

Sure.

I think you will find that most people, if they are being true to themselves, have regrets.

Here's the difference.

Those that are absorbed in arrogance, they will not consider anything they have done and regret it, let alone even try to do anything about it.

So.

I have done things that I regret. Whenever possible, I have tried to make good on that error. If I can, I can, if I cannot, then I have the grace to accept that, and I do not dwell on it.

My only regret is that I cannot go back in time and change all of the things that I regret doing. Hey, looks like I just created an oxy moron huh.

Re: Does Karma really exist?

another angle i see is the confusion of karma with conscience!?i think karma is a spiritual law!?conscience can be just a set of values mentally ingrained that inhibit and control behavior!?

karma to me is like good or bad luck!?having nothing to do with morality or conscience(directly)!?a criminal can be very lucky!?arn't criminals that never get caught just lucky as long as they have no conscientious/moral self objections!?

i mean if luck is defined as having things go your way with no mental straining/effort on your part, just following that path no matter where it leads, even if it goes against reason/law/common sense/others opinions,it could be seen to be unfair/unrighteous/lawless/evil/preposterous/unbelievable by those paths/views it crosses/intersects with!?

take biblical examples of how anyone favored by god can do things that god even says are not right and still suffer no direct repercussions!? hehe!!.....just askn....

Bad things happen to good people.

Good things happen to bad people.

Sometimes these injustices are never corrected.

Sometimes these injustices just keep on repeating themselves, and being a tyrant really has brought riches and so on, over the years, while being a decent human being, usually brings only a struggle, and a bit of gloom, when you look around at the state of human society - we are a pretty nasty little species, in the grander scheme of things.

Anyway, I am afraid that there is no mechanism that causes people who commit injustices, to feel a backlash, least not outside of man made law, of course.

There is no karma.

There have been people who have killed children, and their identity remains a mystery to this day.

There is a good chance that they may even die, never having been caught.

Where is the justice, the good karma, for the relatives of the victim..?

Where is the justice re the person that did the killing?

There isn't.

Sadly, in that instance, they were never caught, and someone was killed for nothing.

Concepts such as karma are merely human imagination trying to make some reason of the horrors of the world.

Imo...

all information concepts if taken to heart can be used to make whatever self judgments/excuses the self is tempted to make!?if we interpret concepts as we see fit without waiting to understand them completely it most probably because we are interactively dependent for self approval and want to fit in with the easily accepted interpretations/reactions!? hehe!!.....just askn....
