Help Expose Barclay Enterprises

Our company provides a legitimate service repairing a specific Panasonic cordless phone that has been discontinued but still in very high demand. We have invested a lot of time and money designing the only properly designed keypad for these phones. Unfortunately, Barclay Enterprises has been right behind us all along scamming customers into paying for another defective keypad. With an average life of just 8-16 months, Barclay insisted there was nothing wrong with the original and offered a bogus 2 year warranty on it. When we point out their guaranteed warranty voiding exclusions, they would simply move them, change the wording or remove them altogether.

Now Barclay is copying our old membrane keypad repair and claiming he has the only permanent keypad repair in the industry. We used this as a temporary solution until our real keypad was complete. At the time it was the only solution available.... but with no amount of imagination can it be better than our new properly designed keypad.

Right now is a critical moment! For a short time you can view both Barclay's attacks of our membrane keypad, lifetime warranty and his false claims the original keypad was flawless AND you can also see his new ad with his amazing Perma-Pad membrane keypad and lifetime warranty where he admits the original keypad is flawed!

Visit Barclay's Google cache page where he bashed our membrane keypad and our lifetime warranty for over a year: HERE then use the "current page" link at the top to view how it's recently been changed.
This will only work for a short time. When Google caches the page again all evidence will be lost. Barclay is counting on this.

Now visit his new ad for their new membrane keypad and lifetime warranty where he admits the original keypad was flawed all along! HERE

Sorry, a trade mark on our old membrane keypad does not make it better! Any claims that the old technique is better are simple fantasy.... right down to his references to the space shuttle! It's cheaper? Yes!... Easier? Yes!... But better?

Barclay has been forced to remove false advertising by the BBB in the recent past. We are working with the BBB now but the keypad issue is difficult to prove.

Barclay is counting on these pages disappearing forever. Please look over the evidence and respond. Help make a permanent record for this obvious fraud.

Re: Help Expose Barclay Enterprises

We are not talking about a UK Bank. I'm sure there are plenty of companies with Barclay in the name around the world. This is a small repair company in Colton, CA.

I have made JPG snapshots of each web site mentioned in my first post to prevent Barclay from changing the page or the loss of the cache.

Re: Help Expose Barclay Enterprises

If someone could review the pages using the links in my first post and confirm the pictures in my second post are not modified or faked that would be great.

Re: Help Expose Barclay Enterprises

Seems like Barclay lies when it is convenient, like when he says:

"Lifetime" warranties are always suspicious, particularly when they involve something that's bound to eventually wear out!'

Then his new web page says that his keypad will never wear out and has a "Lifetime" warranty.

Old web page says: At Barclay, we replace your old keypad with a flawless, brand new keypad. Our replacement Doesn't require the addition of any supplemental inserts / membranes / tabs or other "fixes" that can permanently damage your circuit board!

New page says: But deep inside, where the buttons make contact with the circuit board, we've incorporated the Pad-MateTM a super tough, micro-thin polycarbonate layer with ultra-strong, ultra-durable conductive contacts goes between the dialpad and the circuit board.

Which is it Barclay, make up your mind.
You flip flop your story more than a weather man.

One more for the records
Old web page:

THE COMPETITION'S ALLEGED "IMPROVED KEYPAD"

Remember, the same people who represent their cobbled together "keypad membrane" as an "improved" keypad are the same folks who are trying to entice you with their mythical "lifetime" warranty!

For some reason, they are compelled to shore up their keypads with membranes, tabs and who knows what else. They try to present this as an "improvement"... but they're really just turning your handset in "Franken-Phone".

New web page:
"Super-thin, but super-durable, polycarbonate substrate" and "Industrial grade adhesive seals out contaminants that can make their way between the contacts and the circuit board."

Sounds like Barclay liked the idea and started using it himself and had to change his web page.
ooops Barclay, you should really look at something closer before you say that it sucks. Or did you just say that it sucks becuase you couldn't do it yet and now that you can fix them the same way it is the best thing since sliced bread.

Re: Help Expose Barclay Enterprises

Thanks sphendry!

I just wanted to clear up one point. Barclay is copying our old repair service with the membrane keypad. This was a temporary solution until our real keypad was ready. At the time our membrane keypad was the only solution available.... now that Barclay is having trouble conning customers into believing there is nothing wrong with the OEM keypad they have taken the minimal step of copying our old one. This would not be a problem and was even expected (it's better than nothing) but claiming they are the only company with a membrane keypad and that it is superior to our properly designed rubber keypad is just more of the same con games.

Re: Help Expose Barclay Enterprises

Yeah, it's clear that the company does flip-flop a lot. They come out with a web page about the damage an insert between the keypad and contacts can cause, then hype the same product on a new page, ignoring their earlier cailm. I wouldn't trust a company like that. I'd like to know I'm buying from a great company, that got the design right the first time. Any progress with the BBB?

Re: Help Expose Barclay Enterprises

 Hello, Chris and Rick Barclay... I know you've been here and read my post. Instead of complaining about it you can easily register and post a comment here with your side of the story... but that's not your style is it? You prefer to work in the background defending your tactics in private. Why is that?
