Millionaire Murdered at Amway Convention

Millionaire Murdered at Amway Convention

back story:

27 August 2009 - This from the Miami Herald:

Quote:
RYE BROOK, N.Y. -- This needle-shaped suburb on the outskirts of New York City has had just a handful of homicides since becoming a village in 1982.

But now they have a doozy -- a steamy saga of wealth, privilege, kinky sex games, marital disharmony, family dysfunction and vodoo, shipped straight from the Sunshine State. Not to mention the latest plot twist: The murdered man was having an extramarital affair, multiple law enforcement sources confirm, although no one can say if it had any bearing on his fate.

The victim is Ben Novack Jr., son of the founder of the Fontainebleau and a successful Fort Lauderdale businessman in his own right.

He was found duct-taped and bludgeoned on the morning of July 12 in Suite 452 of the Hilton Rye Brook, where he was overseeing an Amway convention. His wife discovered the body.

Wife on Trial in 2009 Killing of Husband

Opening statements began Monday Apr 23, 2012

Quote:
A prenuptial agreement may have motivated a Florida woman to arrange the killing of her millionaire hotel-heir husband in Rye Brook, N.Y., a federal prosecutor said Monday during opening statements at her trial....

Ben Novack's travel company had arranged an Amway convention at a Hilton hotel in Rye Brook, N.Y., and he was overseeing it when he was killed on July 12, 2009.

He was found beaten to death in his hotel room. His wife told police she knew nothing about it until she came back from breakfast and stumbled over the body.
Geez, that Amway crowd takes their conventions seriously it seems.

Better think twice about raiding someone's downline .

Come to find out, he was murdered because he was thinking of quitting Amway because someone really stupid said it wouldnt work because of some stupid exponential growth math thingy... His children killed him so they could continue collecting hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars each monthwhich was at risk because he was on some scam.com website and a bunch of broke losers had him convinced the money wasnt real and it was a scam...

Re: Millionaire Murdered at Amway Convention

Well maybe not too many murders, but apparently the divorce rate is quite high in Amway. This story makes me think that "Ambot" is a pretty lucky husband - His wife turned to blogging about the misery Amway caused instead of murder or divorce.
