Milk Carton Child Case

New clues in search for America's first "Milk Carton Boy".
I never heard of this? You put pictures of missing children on the back of milk cartons? Wow! That truly is an awesome idea. Watching this story on CNN this morning and I got so choked up. Parents need to raise awareness with their children and what better time? At breakfast.

Here's the story:

New York City police and the FBI are searching the vacant basement of a lower Manhattan building for the possible remains of a 6-year-old boy who disappeared 33 years ago and was the first missing child to appear on milk cartons, USA TODAY’s Kevin Johnson reports.

Etan Patz vanished May 25, 1979, during the two-block walk from his home at 113 Prince Street in SoHo to catch a bus to school. It was his first time walking alone.

Re: Milk Carton Child Case

Here's a picture of Etan Patz. Although unprobable, may be he still be alive or his attacker be brought to justice.

Re: Milk Carton Child Case

Finally the parents get some closure:

Quote:
He put Etan’s body on ice.

The man who confessed to strangling little Etan Patz was calculating enough to stash the child’s corpse in a basement walk-in refrigerator before tossing it out with the trash, sources told The Post yesterday.

Demented murder suspect Pedro Hernandez, 51, revealed to authorities that after killing the child May 25, 1979, “he put him in the walk-in box and kept him there until he took him out and put him in the garbage,” a law-enforcement source said.

It’s unclear how long Hernandez, then 19, kept the boy’s body hidden in the basement fridge at his family’s SoHo bodega, where he worked as a stock boy, after killing him. Etan’s body had been stuffed in a plastic bag and then put into a box before being stowed in the walk-in, sources said.
