Hey, you guys...

I was wondering if you'd do me a favor. This forum gets so much activity that I can't possibly read every single thread constantly and catch all the spam posts.

If you happen upon one while you're reading and responding, would you right click on the number of the post in the right hand corner, copy the link address, and then PM it to me or another mod so we can delete them?

I'd appreciate it very much as I don't get the messages from the 'report' buttons.

You don't HAVE to do anything, mind you, but I don't want to miss any spambot activity that might clutter up your threads.

Thanks.

Re: Hey, you guys...

Zoe I don't know if its you soft deleting threads.

Permanently delete, ban people for life, and throw me ips in a PM one per line. I did around 30 people this morning, they post the same crap....watch some football game or cialis crap.

Its like Terminator...us against the robots.

Thank you for your dedication and hard work. Cheers!

Nope. I don't soft delete threads except when they need to be saved for someone else to look over. That's a rare occasion, however, and it's only happened once.

If I see others soft deleted without an explanation, I just go ahead and hard delete them.

The sports spam has been ESPECIALLY bad today. I must have banned about 25 people and one bot had 8 PAGES of sports spam. That took me forever to get rid of...lol Forum posts I can select all of them at the same time and just delete, but the blog posts I have to click each one individually and delete maybe 14 or so at a time. A single page can hold about 14 posts and it's a pain in the patootie.

Re: Hey, you guys...

i don't get any reports from the spam button either. i thought maybe it was turned off because we didn't need it.

(the temp deleted posts are marked with the name of the moderator, and should also have a note about why it was saved, so all of us can figure out what's going on.)

I think a lot of the time it's just someone clicking the wrong spot while they're hurrying to delete the spam. I've even seen some from you, mumbles, albeit not many...maybe 2.

Yawn, on the other hand.....lol

You know, except for the OP, this is the sort of discussion that would be perfect for a STAFF FORUM. *ahem* administrator?

Cool, I'll hard delete.

I'll send you the IPs - I was wondering about that.

There is a "spam icon" at the upper right corner of each post. I often get email notifications from board members of spam. I follow the email link and hard delete the spam message.

Nothing to hide, just a place to discuss board maintenance. Open another forum for that purpose - like Chat for Moderators. We could make the board open to all board members or just for mods if you want to.

So far, "board maintenance" posts are scattered randomly.
This thread is a Sticky in the MLM Forum.

Re: Hey, you guys...

Not to mention that this thread wasn't for staff to use....lol It was for the denizens of this forum with their rapid-fire posting that I can't keep up with.
